    Christmas is a time of hope and joy for the children of the world. Bright, happy faces, filled with excitement and expectation on Christmas Eve, marvelling in the magic that surrounds each household Norwegian pine tree.

    Bright, shiny tinsel dressing each bough like a layer of snow; the beautiful baubles that slowly spin and reflect the faces of all who wonder in awe. Magic surrounds the colours of ribbons, bows and the glistening star that adorn those green pines with magic, above the neatly wrapped gift boxes.

    It is upon the mantel-piece that those sprigs of holly lay, their berries brightly red, the bright red candle sticks and ornaments of Santa Claus and the Nativity. Red and white stockings, hanging neatly above the fireplace, are warmed by the crackles of logs burning brightly below.

    The dancing flames with their yellow glow create little twinkles, like nightly stars, on the shiny baubles. It is the Spirit of Christmas that surrounds this forest spruce with Yule-time magic. The one and only true magic spirited from the North Pole by Santa Claus.

    Legend has it that Rudolph, the red nosed reindeer, guides the other reindeer and Santa’s sleigh to the homes of children where the Christmas tree glows with the Yule Spirit’s magic. These are the children, who have been nice all year round and who will receive those presents they asked for in their letters to Santa Claus.

    It was Christmas Eve once more, and the snow lay deep outside. The night sky was filled with the twinkling stars gliding in a parade behind the Star of Christmas. Young Imogen’s warm breath was making misty circles on the cold pane of her bedroom window.

    She rubbed them clear and scoured the night sky for Santa. The excitement inside kept her from sleep on this most magical night. She watched eagerly for the silhouette of Santa’s sleigh and reindeer flying across the brightly shining full moon. Snow-flakes were starting to slowly fall; could this be a sign that Santa was close?
