      Introduction

      One great advantage of digital business is the fact that you may be doing the hard work but you can reap everything by yourself and no one can bully you to work against your principle.

      While working online, you can reserve an area in your home as your workplace so you can have it by yourself and no one can distract you while you’re working. You don’t need to rent a space like when you have a physical business so; you spend less on your budget.

      Because you aren’t traveling, you can spend more time working instead of wasting time on travel and traffic like when you go to your office or workplace daily. If you are spending 30 minutes driving going to your office and 30 minutes going home daily, you will be saving 5 hours a week for 5 days of work or 20 hours a month. If your work value is $30 an hour, then you’re losing $600 a month.

      In the digital world, there are many ways you can earn money - from creating apps and providing technical services which are all web-based. And because of the internet's accessibility and fluidity, many opportunities for passive income were created in support of active businesses. To begin with, you can put a website which can serve as your base for income-earning.

      Now, that you understand the benefits, let’s see what you can do online to derive passive income from digital products and services. For a start, you may take advantage of free websites hosting services where you can create various contents and earn from affiliates. But if you want to own content on your site, it's best to buy your own domain where you can start earning. Here are other things you can do with your website.

      ●  Selling books, online courses, online guides, software, games, videos, and other digital products

      ●  Sell services like video and photography, event organizing and coordination, freelance writing, website designing and installation, software creation, design, and programming, and many more

      ●  Making book and product reviews and referrals

      ●  Dropshipping activities

      ●  Selling and creating digital content

      ●  And many more!

      The final passive income model we’ll cover here is YouTube videos. It might surprise you to know that you can earn a generous amount of long-term passive income with YouTube videos. However, while this income method does require an up-front investment, it is possible to post videos on YouTube and earn income for them for the rest of your life, particularly if you take care to create evergreen content.

      How Can YouTube Videos Earn You Money?

      You know what videos are, and what YouTube is, but if you're like most people you may not understand how they can earn you money. There are three basic methods you can use to make money from YouTube:

      1. Use Ad Sense.

      The first way to earn money with the videos you post on YouTube is to sign up for Ad Sense. When you watch videos on YouTube, you have undoubtedly come across some videos that have ads that play prior to the video. There are two kinds of ads, the ones that allow you to watch for five seconds and then skip the rest, and those that require you to watch the entire ad – usually 30 seconds. If you opt into Ad Sense, you can earn money every time somebody watches an ad all the way through or clicks on an ad to sign up for someone's list or make a purchase.

      2. Use embedded video links.

      The second option is to post videos that sell a particular product and include a clickable link inside the video that will redirect viewers to your landing page. This strategy can also be highly effective for promoting other passive income streams that you might already have.

      3. Make pay per view videos.

      The third method is to charge people to watch your video – basically a rental fee. While the vast majority of YouTube are free, you might be able to get away with charging if you are offering something truly unique and valuable.

      The third option is a hard sell, so I recommend sticking to a combination of the first two if you want to try this method.

      Pros and Cons of Creating a YouTube Channel

      Creating a YouTube channel is easy, but let’s talk about the pros and cons as they relate to using YouTube as a way of generating passive income, starting with the pros:

      1. It’s very easy to set up.

      Setting up a YouTube channel is free and takes only minutes to do. That means that if you already have video content, you can be up and running in a very short time.

      2. It’s a great way to leverage google.

      YouTube is owned by Google, and that means that you can reap some real SEO benefits by using YouTube, including redirecting traffic to your website and building your online reputation.

      3. Traffic is extremely high.

      YouTube is one of the most highly-trafficked websites in the world, generating millions of views every day. That means that your videos can easily find a global audience.

      4. It’s easy to monetize.

      Signing up for Ad Sense is also very easy, and you can get started with it quickly.

      5. It’s easy to create videos.

      Video creating is easier than it ever has been before, and you don’t have to have a lot of technical know-how to do it.

      Here are the cons of using YouTube as a method of earning passive income:

      1. Not all video views earn advertising revenue.

      If you use AdSense, you will earn income only if viewers watch an ad all the way through or click on it. That means that the number of views you get on your channel may not translate to a substantial income.

      2. Advertising revenue is very low.

      If you’re relying on advertising alone to generate passive income, you’ll have to get a lot of views per video and/or produce many videos before you make a large amount of money.

      3. High quality videos can be costly.

      Creating high-quality videos can be expensive. It depends on what you want to do, but videos with high production and entertainment value are far more likely to be viewed than those with shoddy production value. You may have to spend a good amount of money up front to create video content.

      Depending on what you want to do, you may also need to outsource some of your video creation. For example, you might have the technical expertise to create certain types of videos, but if you want animation or effects, you’ll probably have to hire an expert to do it.

      4. It takes time to build an audience.

      It can take some time to build up viewership for your channel and get the money rolling in. For that reason, this method may be best combined with other methods so that you aren’t without income while you are getting started.

      If you have either the technical know-how to create videos on your own or the financial wherewithal to hire someone to do it for you, then YouTube videos can be a great source of long-term passive income.

      TIPS FOR CREATING YOUTUBE Videos

      If you want to earn money from your videos, you need to give viewers a reason to watch them and share them on social media. Here are some things to keep in mind:

      1. Tell a story.

      A video that entertains and informs is your best option if you want it to go viral. It can be nearly impossible to predict which videos will catch on, but people’s imaginations tend to be captured by stories.

      2. Inject some humor into your video.

      Funny videos tend to be extremely popular, even when advertising relatively boring products.
