fortunate to get to know Michelle while she was a classroom volunteer, substitute and classroom teacher during multiple maternity leaves at Morrisonville Elementary School. After seeing her in action and hearing the high praise she received from my colleagues about her skill, personality, and way with the children, I knew I wanted her for my maternity leave. Michelle was very eager and excited for the opportunity and even came in at the end of the schoolyear before my leave to observe me and learn about the new reading program our schoolwas beginning.
Miss Kemp was the permanent substitute in my class from September to November 2012. She

did an excellent job dealing with all the stresses of beginning a new school year. During that time, she
was responsible for lesson planning, classroom management, student assessment, collegialteam work and beginning to implement a new reading program. She did a superb job handling the demands of the

common core and new assessment data keeping. Michelle worked hard to differentiate instruction. She stayed late many nights to make sure lessons were thoroughly planned and materials were prepared for the following day. Michelle also strived to really know each student. She worked hard to keep parents aware of how each child was doing both academically and behaviorally. Miss Kemp has a good handle on classroom management. She also has a great understanding of technology and implements it with students as frequently as possible. She stepped into my role as an inclusion teacher
and with the guidance of my inclusion team, set up and put plans in place to help students with behavior

problems as they arose.
