ew facilities, better equipment and more improved teaching techniques: these are but the characteristics of the University of Cebu METC campus as it moved towards the goal of excellence in moulding globally-competitive individuals. Another pace more from this are the real accomplishments as students from this university will indulge auspiciously to the real world of seafaring which is actually almost at hand. But success is equivocal when fear subsided along the way. The cracks on the I-building due to the recently occurred earthquakes that strike Central Visayas triggered students ambiguity towards the foundation of the building. Was it because its new? Or did it only offer a transitory safety? In this regard, students became hesitant to rest their assurance of safety upon stepping on floors of the building. Furthermore, the east wing of the building was prohibited from anybody in fear that it might collapse. And yes, the words were right. The fear of collapsing bounced back to every nook and cranny of the school, gave rise to students individual speculations and even broke outside the school premises. The building, which was extended not even a year ago, threatened the entire studentry. Now wheres the students safety? One of the many speculations heard is that the extension of the I-building was rapidly finished just to be utilized for this school semester. And yet, because of this, the entire week was jeopardized. There were no classes all throughout the week just to be certain. Serious to the fact, the school was inspected two

days after the event by both the internal and external engineers led by Ms. Candice Gotianuy herself and it was assured that despite the presence of cracks, the school remains firm. Needless to say, classes resumed and the I-building was facilitated with classes again. Albeit, this received a negative responses though and it is nigh impossible for students to forget such an event. Despite the uncertain danger prying on their every step, students still aspire to go to school, to gain knowledge because education is far more important and the learning is a must to most of these globally competitive cadets and cadettes. UC-METC is very fortunate to have these determined students and students are blessed likewise. Students with enthusiasm to earn learning inspire others to outgrow fear with the optimistic approach of the situation. With every crack present on walls and floors of the building is comparable to the never-ending progress of excellence to UC-METC students. These cracks, like scars of yesterdays battle, never hinder us to showcase our competency in maritime world all over the world.

ou patiently waited in line in the book section just to purchase a book worth P300.00. When you already got the book in your hands, you felt the urge to answer natures call. Sadly, you forgot to keep your book and instead left it on the table. Upon remembering, you came back only to find your book was not there already. You went to the Civil Security Units office to claim it but it wasnt there as well. And before you knew everything that happened to your book, all its adventures to the more fortunate hands, you found it being sold outside the main gate of the campus. Now we dont need to tackle more on the situation just to understand the problem, do we? The coast is clear and the sightings are real; there is indeed a rampant decrease of courtesy, honesty and an increase of larceny inside the campus. In a matter of split second, things were lost and never returned again. This is one of the problems encountered by most students and it is hard to accept that behind the prestigious name of the school lurks an undetected foe. UC-METC hones every individual student in terms of academic performances, competencies, and the likes as it thrives to retain its title as a world class institution. But perhaps, one side of this multi-faceted university is not discovered and harnessed yet the aspect of honesty that was and will never be learned inside the four walls of the classrooms. It is the only aspect that rooted directly from individual students. It is the aspect of students to recognize right behaviours from wrong. Honesty, according to Websters dictionary, refers to a facet of moral character and denotes position, virtuous attributes such as integrity, straightforwardness, along with the absence of lying, cheating or theft. Indeed, it is very clear that being honest is preventing one from stealing yet now, it is visible enough. This may not be a big issue to some but to those people who barely eat just to have the book or any necessities required in their subjects, its worth twice. I dont need to eavesdrop to hear their clamour about this. The echoes, the pleading cries to return those lost belongings were audible enough. And it is hard for me to picture how parents insinuated their sons when their children cant show any proof that the money intended for the miscellaneous was really spent the right way. Sometimes even, their allowances were the one that suffered from this insolent act. Twice deduction, maybe thrice, merely penetrated not only their wallets but their pockets as well. And lets dig deeper to the error of the schools compass towards success. Isnt it remarkably questionable how this problem escaped from the eagle eyes of UC-METC? Students facing this problem dont have the spirit to

voice it out. They were overtaken by anxiety, by fear. They were muted by their own weak incentives. And of course, it is wrong to allegedly blame somebody without the needed proofs. Because in the world where visible and tangible things are the bases to solve a case, those who only perceived stays at the least rank and most of us fall on that rank. The UC-METC offers service regarding this behavioural misconception. If anybody forgot, there is indeed the CSU standing across the study hall of the I-building wherein it serves as a security of the school as oriented in first year students. Of course, many students went there but sadly to no avail because even they cannot penetrate to the source of the problem. Where is then the source of this rude action of larceny? We may have taken this for granted or neglected this for good, but it is indisputable that the source came from our own selves. We are the sole actors of this role of dishonesty; we are the only people to blame. And isnt it degrading and shameful on our part that despite being trained in a semi-military way to be better seafarers someday, we deviate from it. Instead, we do what are against the will of the law and perhaps the fifth will of Almighty Father. Thou shall not steal, He commanded. Even those personnel who are privileged to come to school to work are not excused to be a suspect to commit the same act. Honesty is a subject that was never taught by our great instructors or by the personnels supervisors but we can teach this subject to ourselves regardless of who we were before. Stealing is the counterpart of this subject. If properly practiced, maybe next time we walk in the alleyway of our schools build- ings, we dont hear the same dilemma of the students, Wheres my book? I just left it here. Instead, theyll be studying with the books they newly bought.

eafaring as a profession is considered as one of the most intelligent occupations of all, basing to Harvard PsychologistHoward Gardner on his famous theory of Multiple Intelligences (MI). The theory describes eight distinct intelligences that are based on skills and abilities that are valued within different cultures. These are Visual-Spatial, Verbal-linguistic, Bodily-kinesthetic, Logical-Mathematical, Interpersonal, Musical, Intrapersonal, Naturalistic intelligences (Watin, Felisilda, Abella, 2009: p74). These eight distinct intelligences are present to the seafaring profession, maybe not all could carry out 100% efficiency but a significant factor of its presence figured out the completion of all the intelligences, knowing that not all profession and only few of it can compile or could complete the factors of this Multiple Intelligences (MI). Seafaring is not just any other ordinary profession at all unlike other adversaries keep on commenting and are pessimistic about it. This only shows that seafarers should not be affected about these certain negative issues. Hence, as knowing seafaring as one of the most intelligent professions we should build our pride even stronger as taking maritime course in the first place is a no ordinary thing at all! Here are the Multiple Intelligences (MI) attributes to a modern seafarer based on Garners studies: Visual-Spatial This area deals with spatial judgment and the ability to visualize with the minds eye. This intelligence could best be notice to a seafarer when he is on a look out, charting, plotting, cargo positioning, monitoring closely for suspected oil leaks and other spatial abilities onboard. Verbal-linguistic People with verbal-linguistic intelligence display a facility with words and languages. This intelligence could best be notice to a seafarer through learning foreign languages easily for international voyages, recalls maritime theoretical studies and the ability to understand and manipulate syntax and structured compo-

weaknesses are, what makes you unique, being able to predict your own reactions and emotions. This intelligence shows the self-awareness of the seafarer on his duties and responsibilities. Naturalistic This area has to do with nurturing and relating information to ones natural surroundings. This intelligence could best be notice to a seafarer on giving the highest priority when it comes to natural resources or the environment itself. Examples of this are avoidance of marine pollution, establishment of rules for proper disposal of waste at sea and more environment friendly acts on seafaring. According to David Wechsler Intelligence is the ability to learn from experience, to think rationally, and to deal effectively with the environment. An intelligent person is indeed a good asset in our community, but for seafarers whether he/she is intelligent or not, the more important thing about this profession is being confident at all times. By just doing things we enjoy most whether or not intelligent is the factor, the fact that we do it in our own and we put passion on it is beyond what is intelligence is all about.

eing one of the solid and stabilized DNV accredited maritime institutions here and abroad, UC-METC soars high and leaps forward to its endless plight towards greatness and excellence. Anchored with the vast number of shipping companies, both domestic and international, which came plying back and forth in the portals of UC-METC recruiting snappy cadets either for scholarship or cadetship, it is obvious that this institution is not just an ordinary one, but rather an extraordinary and indeed a competitive and a big catch not just for the companies but to University of Cebu as well. Vast numbers of international and domestic, large and enormous shipping companies already found this institution as a reliable and excellent nest of world-class future officers and engineers. It was proven by the fact that UC-METCs YCG( Yuez Candice Gotianuy) had signed nearly fifty cadetships. These large, known and progressive shipping companies had their own curriculum followed and implied for their cadets, the 2-1-1 and 3-1 curriculum.

and evaluated daily to ameliorate not just their mental ability but also their physical attributes. Some may say that this is strict than the other but all is just for the cadets betterment. They are not going to pay even a single centavo for their studies, but during their apprenticeship their allowance will be deducted eventually which serves as the payment. The cadet is obliged to finish his apprenticeship onboard within one year for this is also part of the curriculum. The remaining allowance will then be saved and set aside because right after when he finished apprenticeship, he will then come back to school and the fees will now be paid by the cadet himself. And the rest will be set aside for the review and board exam. There is a great advantage if a cadet is following this type of curriculum. It is that the learning that was acquired from the past years is still fresh in mind. The bane is just during the one-year apprentice, the cadet must finish the numbers of days throughout the year because when he lacks even one training day he will be sent back onboard and fill-up this day so that his papers will be approved. In the 3-1 curriculum, the cadet is obliged to finish first the three years requirement before going onboard for apprenticeship. Mostly, cadets under this curriculum are those who have no companies yet, regular students and those who are under the shipping companys cadetship training program. Within the three years of study, the cadet pays his legal contributions, not the company. For the company, it only serves as a sponsor for his apprenticeship. But during the apprenticeship, there will be no payment and an allowance is given. Everything is shouldered by the company. Thats the advantage. The bane is that the cadet may possibly forget what he had learned for

there will be no other years to come back to school anymore, unless he will take selfreviews seriously while onboard because right after when he finished his apprenticeship, he will then be taking the rigid reviews and by that time he will use the money he earned from his allowance during the apprenticeship for his board exam. The bottom line is that either you are under the 2-1-1 or the 3-1 curriculum still the benefits and outcomes lies on your behaviour and how you make the most out of it. Moral responsibility really matters a lot. Shipboard training is not a job. It is only a part of the study wherein every cadet must fulfill, Capt. Maluya emphasized. Whether you belonged to the 2-1-1 or in the 3-1 curriculum, just take care of your company. Show loyalty to it because after loyalty, everything will follow, he added emphatically.

2-1-1 or 3-1 curriculum

Cadets who are sponsored by shipping companies follow the 2-1-1 curriculum. Their first two years in college are spent in school for their academic requirements, after which they go onboard for one year apprenticeship but go back to school anew to finish one more year to complete their academic requisites. In this curriculum, cadets were sent to school within two years without paying their school fees which include the tuition fees, the miscellaneous, the laboratory fees and the like for the company itself shoulders all these bills. Cadets were monitored regularly, motivated

he world of men is not anymore the world created by God but it becomes now as satans dwelling place where he works surreptitiously to gather his own people. Man works for new-fangled styles and contemporary practices which will eventually destroy himself because unknowingly these modern works are unacceptable in Gods sight. Evidently, the new era is bombarded with murky practices. The modern society is cascaded with idolaters, thieves, fornicators, backbiters, wicked, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, boasters, etc. The moral values of the past are neglected in exchange for earthly pleasures. Taking a closer look on how the evil works will help us know and discover evils victims. However, we are enjoined into one colossal belief which is there is one and only true God who created us and forgives us despite of all our transgressions and with that we have to care for this life He gave. But our faith into this one true God is jeopardized because of Satans evil forces that pull us away from Gods ultimate providence. As humans, we have weak points in which we are mostly tempted to do things which are unrighteous and unacceptable in Gods eye. However, because of Gods ultimate love to humankind, he sent his only begotten son so whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but will have an everlasting life (John 3:16). New Era The modern society utilizes the benefits brought us by high-technology which include the internet, the online games, diversified sites and a lot more. Evidently, most of the people of todays generations are clinging to these advantages. Their access means a source of immediate pleasures and entertainment. Usually, the benefactors are the students. During our free time or even worse during class hours, instead of spending time at the library reading educational books and going into class to listen to our teachers discussions, students keep on chasing rainbows. Multiple hours of staying online, playing games and watching videos, staying all night at disco bars are the most common scenarios existing today. And what are implications? Engaging to these time-wasting activities requires money. And money today is not easy to acquire unless you take part on robbery (e.g. akyat-bahay-gang). The money we spend comes from the blood and sweat of our parents and the people who worked for it. Thus, it is supposed to be an utmost responsibility that before spending a single penny, think of ways on how you could pay back to the toils and sacrifices of the people who worked just to provide what we need.

Going with the flow to this high pace era triggers much of todays corruption of mans mind to deviate from loving God above anything else. Mans attitudes become more indecent. The verse from the bible saying, Go to the world and multiply, was given a repugnant meaning. Sex, being one of the psychological needs of an individual has been exploited to the point of unrelenting engagement to sexual intercourse. The book of Corinthians says to avoid fornication. And what is fornication? It is the sexual intercourse between partners who are unmarried to each other. The smut and the bold hasten the decay of our moral values. The sassy and lust-filled generation seems to proliferate tremendously. Instead of regarding sex as a holy privilege given to men, it has been abused astoundingly. We know that we are made in the image and likeness of God and our hearts are supposed to be Gods temple. Now, the challenges rest to us future seafarers. As we trade to different areas of the world, we opt to acquaint a lot of sexy girls which will lure our eyes and sends sensations to our body therefore its difficult to resist. Most importantly to the married ones, they should tightly grip themselves to the promise they bid to their loved ones left at home so that he could resist the burning temptation of making love to another woman. Penetrative sex is purely lust. The bottom line here is that dont let lust overpower love because love should remain as the greatest of all. Repentance Father Almighty will judge us according to our deeds, whether those are good or bad. But all is given the chance to renew and change oneself. The Bible says that men will be cleansed if they return to Jesus Christ and they are willing to sacrifice and give up their occult doings. We believe that theres life after death. Death is not just the end. Its just a beginning. Earth is where we are tested. If we are willing to take the path by which at the end we would be eternally together with God then keep on taking the right path. We shouldnt be worrying about the evil forces, because God is ready to carry us when its beyond our strength. Confess your sins to Our Almighty Father. He is a forgiving God. He never turns His back. Then the Bible says, Watch you therefore and pray always, that you may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass and to stand before the son of man So then, are you going to swerve yourself to immorality? Or are you going to choose the right path. The decision youll choose affects you eternally.

epatitis is inflammation of the liver; this inflammation may be caused by viruses, toxins, or chemicals like drugs. Jaundice, the yellowness of the eyes is the usual symptoms that develop. Other manifestation depends on the causative agent and the degree of organ disruption. There are several types of hepatitis such as viral, toxic, chronic, and alcoholic( Black & Hawks,2005 ). Viral hepatitis is a blood-borne infection that can be inherited to the blood cycle to the family. The viral hepatitis have a common t ypes are hepatitis A virus (HAV), hepatitis B virus (HBV), hepatics C virus (HCV), hepatitis D virus (delta agent) and other hepatitis agent have been identified. These types of hepatitis viruses can cause viral infections to the people weak in their immune system. The etiologies of hepatitis A through E that can cause viral hepatitis are characterized at the molecular level. The prevention of the viral infection depends primarily on the form of viruses and to maintain the good personal hygiene. Proper sanitation is the best way to prevent this kind of infection. Hepatitis A can be prevented through immune globulin that is administered within the muscles of the clients after the exposure but not after the development of clinic manifestation. Other recommended prevention of this infection is routine vaccination for the children and for the adult is the HAV vaccine. In hepatitis B the recommended prevention of this infection is based on passive immunization or with hepatitis B immune globulin (HBIG) which contains higher level of anti-HBs.

Hepatitis C the transmission and prevention of HCV is similar to that HBV. Immune globulin is ineffective in preventing hepatitis and is no longer recommended for post-exposure. Hepatitis C vaccination is not a possible option. Hepatitis D is the virus that coexist with HBV, therefore the vaccine of HBV can help to prevent hepatitis D. The precaution to this infection is having a proper general hygiene. The early symptoms of hepatitis infection is usually last less than two months like fatigue, fever, abdominal pain, nausea appetite loss, jaundice and bile. The virus spreads often occur in condition of poor sanitation and overcrowding. Hepatitis A can be transmitted by the parenteral route but very rarely by blood and blood products. It is detectable from 1 to 2 weeks after the initial infection and persists for up to 14 weeks. The patient of this virus may rest and avoid eating fatty foods and alcohols. Eat a well balanced diet and always stays hydrated are the best things to prevent this illness.

he gleam of hope seems dwindling as the pillar of the family enters the pangs of murky cell. Tears from cloudy eyes roll down into the cheeks of the loved ones in anguish. But the remorseful prisoner became sceptical of his situation because all of a sudden his dreams have no more way to become a reality. One or among of these agonizing scenarios can befall to someone as repercussions after whose mind has been severely seethed by chemicals being introduced in ones internal systems. The bodys normal state faltered because substances were taken abusively. However, theres no reason to blame the chemicals because the blame should be charged to the one whos using them. Yet, these chemicals are proven to be powerful in the field of medicine and pharmacology. Myriads of lives were recuperated because of their healing strength. But whats mournful to note is that these chemicals apart from their boon effects, became the mainspring of trouble, crimes and shrinking health. To point it out, all these refer to DRUGS. Scientifically known as pharmaceuticals, they are chemical substances that when introduced into the body will adversely affect your psychological and physiological well-being. They are manufactured not to ruin lives but serve as agents of healing and deterrents of the growth of diseasecausing bacteria. THE BENEFITS Among these, are the medicinal drugs like antibiotics (penicillin, streptomycin and tetracycline), the belladonna which is used to treat stomach cramps, tetanus oxide used to immunize against tetanus. Additionally, the ones we take to cure our illnesses, all those refer to drugs. These only prove that drugs functions significantly to maintain that our body is at the pink of health. Furthermore, there are some referred to as smart drugs. Examples of these are Nootropics, which are claimed to improve human cognitive abilities like memory, concentration, mood and learning. Stimulants like cocaine are used to boost self-confidence and energy. For example, in order to concentrate in your studies without getting too much stress, you decide to take those drugs. But take note, its essential to seek physicians advice because these smart drugs were

found to bear side effects. THE DOWN SIDE Too much dependence to drugs became detrimental to life. To simplify, there are what we call habit-forming drugs (morphine, cocaine, Benzedrine) which are being consumed ceaselessly because once the users refrain from using these drugs, their body seems to suffer withdrawal symptoms which is a sign of drug dependence. The worst is, when it becomes too formidable to the user to keep his body functional even without the use of drugs, he opts for compulsive drug seeking and becomes drug addicted. Drug addiction doesnt just mean being addicted to drug. Its a brain disease that causes the brain to change its structure and the way it works. And whats next? These brain changes paved the way to deleterious behaviours depicted in people who abuse drugs. Obsessive craving for drugs results to robbery. When the mind will no longer be capable of distinguishing right from wrong it would result to sexual assaults and forcible rape cases. The destructive effects of drugs threaten the modern society as drug mules, drug users seemingly spread out. Filipinos fleeing to foreign lands face capital punishment (death penalty) because of drug trafficking. But why do people engaged to drug abuse? INFLUENCING FACTORS First factor is peer pressure. For example when your peer says, you have to try this drug as a sign that you are part of this group and to show your loyalty to us. Remember the Biblical word, Bad company corrupts good character. Its not bad at all to mingle with a lot of people since we are social entities. However, we should choose those who could influence our lives in a decisive way. Do not be enthralled of the thought, Because others are using it, why not try it too. This concept is a by-product of a misplaced and misused curiosity which is the second factor. Our inquisitiveness at this point plots us to our own doom. This curiosity leads us to an eerie of negative thoughts enabling us to be hooked by evil forces. Since evils favourite playground is an idle mind, those who cant endure lifes unbecoming circumstances like family and

relationship matters, are lured to use drugs. SAYING NO TO DRUGS To enhance our bodys wellness, instead of depending to drugs why not use the natural and safest way? Healthy diet and proper exercise are some substantial ways to keep our body physically fit. The reason why we have PE subjects to remind us that maintenance of a healthy and well- functional body through performing physical activities is nothing but undoubtedly necessary. Through engaging to different worthwhile activities (e.g. playing basketball, swimming), we can deviate ourselves from thinking that drugs are final options. Most importantly to us seafarers, our body is our capital. We cant go onboard and work abroad if we cant pass the medical examination. Yet, vitamins which are considered safe are exemptions to these. But for those drugs like shabu, marijuana and many others, once those will be found out in the medical examination, our permit will be barred. Our work on board requires healthy mind and body to function effectively and efficiently, can we function at our best if harmful drugs run through our blood vessels? No. Thus, we have to be responsible and be extra cautious. Despite of lifes difficulties, we should keep going with courage and bravery. The reason why some use drugs is their flimsy character. Accepting realities and problems and work for solutions is a way not to be tempted to use prohibited drugs. Prohibited drugs are not solutions. They just intensify the situation once you become excessively engrossed to it. Remember that drugs engulf your mind and body through its deceptive positive effects only to bring you to the verge of thinking in the end that theres nothing way out.

1. Ang Flag ceremony ba para sa estudyante ra? Kung dili, asa naman ang mga maestro og maestra?

Flag ceremony is for everybody Eng. Caas said, but some of the instructors have a class of 8:30-10:30am and so on, that only those teachers having their 7:30am classes can attend the flag ceremony. He also said that the flag ceremony was assigned to C/M Wee and Lt. Coscos to assist the students during the flag ceremony. Proper actions have done for this certain problem. The school administration provided memos for all the teachers and staff. They also conducted surveys about the problem so that the students would no longer be puzzled about this issue. According to the school administration Wireless fidelity is not included in the miscellaneous. It is just exclusive for the sponsored cadets who have computer facilities from their companies such as INC, IMEC, Briese etc. But if its possible for the administration to provide a free Wi-Fi here in the campus then it would be much appreciated.

2. Unsay gamit sa among gibayaran nga miscellaneous kung dili maka connect sa Wi-fi kay naay password? 3. Nganong naa may discrimination sa grado? Ma Scholar man o Regular? Pareha raman unta estudyante?

Architect Caedo, an instructor of E-Mat (Engineering Materials) and draw, answered directly that there was no discrimination at all about the grades of both regular students and scholars. In behalf of the instructors, we know our job well and were just grading the students based on their scores; whether they passed or even failed, there is no adding of grade occurs because it must be reflected to their performances on how they do their best to excel, she said. Many students doubt the superiority of UC-METC among other maritime institution. Captain Arnel Malaga, the dean of Marine Transportation directly answered the query of some of the students. Several factors are considered in the achievements of UC-METC, he said. Accomplishments such as STCW 95 requirements, state-of-the-art facilities, new swimming pools and new buildings are some factors that make us a world class institution. The completion of facilities is a big factor because it aids the students to indulge in hand-in-hand activities in their respective courses. Thats why most of the shipping companies choose UCMETC as their training venue for their cadets and cadettes. The population of the students is ballooning every year. Another factor is that majority of students are well disciplined and the administrators are eager to help the students to the peak of their career. Critics have it that the universitys Clinic misses some of its facilities. Well, it is not true as the schools physician Dr. Teresita Alfafara said: Talking about facilities, the clinic has air conditioner, waiting lounge, weighing scale, computers, television and etc. The clinic has visual aids, in which the physician donated by herself, that help the patients further understand their problems. The tools which were given by the school are intended for the benefit of the students. According to Dr. Alfafara, the clinic can accommodate a maximum of 25 individuals and in the dental department with only 6 persons that could be facilitated in the morning and 6 in the afternoon because of the preparation of tools used. Despite of these, they make sure that the patients are comfortable and they are given utmost care. We cannot deny the fact that problems are bound to exist especially in different schools. Thats why there are organizations who will take an action to fix these problems. C/M Lester Wee, the SAO (Students Affairs office) director, answered the query of one of the students. He shortly stated that Problems such as student to student, the SAO is responsible for that and student to teacher problem we have the deans Office. Generally, it depends upon the situation, and the administration is making sure that they are given the utmost and fair consideration. This is the top of the line question that bothers the minds of METCians. C/M Lester U. Wee (UC-METC Sao director), Lt. Uldarico Coscos (Dorm Master) and 3/E Jose Ramil Caas (Dean of Marine Engineering) gave their sides to this issue. The students were hesitant to follow the prescribed haircut which is the 3X4 because every one of them has their own styles such as anime style. C/M Lester Wee said that If students only follow the rules and regulations and observe the proper haircut, twice a month inspection would never have been implemented. 3/E Jose Ramil Canas also gave his message to the students: Students should be law abiding, students should follow the rules! We are not doing this for our own, but we do this for the student benefit. Students should swallow their pride; one must obey the rules, like the proper haircut and more, Lt. Uldarico Coscos quoted during the interview.

4. What makes UC-METC a world class institution?

5. Is the Clinics facility enough?

6. If we will say what should be given an attention, who would take part of it?

7. Nganong twice a week man ang haircut inspection?

The earliest surviving vessel is a pine log boat or dugout found in Pesse, Netherlands in and dated to between 7510 and 8040 BC. It is almost 3 m (10 ft) long but only 40 cm (16 in) wide. The boat, which is now in the Drents Museum, Assen, Netherlands, was found in 1955 during the construction of a road. It was initially discarded and left to lie on the side of the road until an eagle-eyed farmer recognised it as a dugout and took it home in a wheelbarrow. Its significance was discovered after he notified local historical experts. Historically, the boat dates from the Stone Age, at about the time at which the mammoth became extinct. In April 2006, Ruth Novo Olimba became the first female Chief Officer On Board MV Maria Diana. A year and a half later, she passed theOfficer in Charge of Navigational Watch Management Level Licensure Examinations (Chief Mate) and in January 2008, she was promoted as the first female Captain On Board. At present, Ruth is the 3rd Officer in Foreign Going Vessel LPG Tanker of Solvang Phils., Inc. David Sandeman (UK) was the first man who sailed across the Atlantic singlehandedly between Jersey, UK, and Newport, Rhode Island, USA, at the age of 17 years 176 days in the 10.67 m (35 ft) long Sea Raider in 1976. The voyage lasted 43 days. The largest offshore oil disaster occurred when a fire started on the Piper Alpha oil production platform in the North Sea on 6 Jul 1988, with 167 people killed out of a crew of 225. Most of the rig melted in the intense heat and dropped off into the sea. SuperFerry boasts of a well-maintained modern fleet. Hold the distinction of being the first shipping company in the Philippines to have received the prestigious International Ship Management (ISM) Code - a certification of compliance to international standards on safety management, environmental protection, emergency preparedness, maintenance of the ship requirements, qualified and well-trained crew, and development plans for shipboard operations. The entire fleet of SuperFerry is compliant with the ISPS Code. Thousands of pirates were active from 16501720. These years are sometimes known as a Golden Age of piracy. Famous pirates from this period include Blackbeard (Edward Teach), Henry Morgan, William Captain Kidd, Calico Jack Rackham and Bartholomew Roberts. In some parts of the world, especially the South China Seas, piracy still exists today. Do you know that there were also women pirates existed? Two of the most famous were Anne Bonny and Mary Read. It was against pirates rules for women to be on board ship, so they disguised themselves by dressing up in mens clothes. They each joined the crew of a ship in the West Indies led by Calico Jack Rackham. They took part in many attacks, and fought as fiercely as all the other pirates. Eventually, the crew were all captured in 1720, put on trial in Jamaica, and sentenced to death. D o you believe that not Magellan but a Filipino was the one who became the first to circumnavigate the world? On a previous voyage, Magellan had purchased a Filipino slave, Enrique, who travelled with him to Spain and Portugal and then sailed on this voyage, thereby earning an equal claim to the title of first to circumnavigate the earth. Magellans will specified that Enrique was to be freed on Magellans death, but Magellans shipmates ignored the will. However, Enrique escaped and returned home.

I wrote this poem about you, hoping you could read this Wishing you the best of everything which could exist Always thinking making you smile every day Maybe this time around, just one wild grin you would. Youre too charming, too soft but not so innocent Youre so cute whenever you state some jokes, Actually, it always makes me laugh Maybe you didnt notice but I enjoy your company every time! I always feel you beside me even without your presence Its all because of your friendly character making me not to forget you Youll be the sweetest treasure for me, Im sure Cause Id never been such a lucky guy knowing you! Never been a single lie I heard from you Cause even the ugliest truth you told You give me happy thoughts every time And that kind of cheerful thing makes me idolize you! Like the brightest star you shine Cause every time we talk, I always feel alive And in my heart youd been an inspiration, Because youre the reason that I always want to do the things I enjoy most! I can still feel that same gorgeous girl so long ago Cause youre just a part of me that I cant let go, Youre the most special meow I ever had Cause theres no one else who could touch my life out of the ordinary way, except you!

hanks I have You!

I have been dreaming of you my love ever since, Youve been living in my dreams so long it seems. I wonder if I could kiss your soft lips, An angel like you reminds me of an autumns tulips. Your presence synchronizes me and aspires me the most, Im hoping that your tenderness will never lose. An angel like you should not live in a mans tranquil dreams, Stricken by your plea is crazy as it seems. You deprived my sadness pleaded to make me smile. I stared at the horizon and looked up at the azure sky. Thinking you are the girl of my dreams, It drives me crazy and makes sigh. Your kindness attracts me the most, The soft voice kindles, my heart wants to burst. But you are just only one of mens fantasies, I wish you will turn out to be reality. Days had passed, but still, Im thinking of you, An echo from a distance is what I heard from you. Love and caress is what I am dying to show, You are neither true nor real so I have to let you go

Life is a jest, all things can show it I thought so once, but now I know it Sometimes, only one person is missing Seems my whole world is not interesting Grow old along with me; the best yet is to be I dread no more the first white hair Even age itself to the special chair May sorrow alter to you? Into something I can bear unto you And that night shall filled with music That our loves known to be as magic But why time speeds away from its loss Made my heart, hard for you to choose When sorrows come, they comes not single spies But in battalions We look before and after, and pine for what is not With some pains is fraught Are those tell of saddest thought

Cheri Love
