OPERATION
IN TEST POSITION The switching device is disconnected from the bus bars and the outgoing circuit. The compartment door may be open or closed and the auxiliary circuit plug may be inserted or not. When the auxiliary circuit plug is inserted and the chassis is locked in the test position following operation is possible. i) To open the door of the breaker compartment. ii) To operate earthing switch. iii) To test operate the breaker from local, electrically, manually, also remotely to check operation of breaker. iv) To check the function of switch position, indication electrical interlocks. When the auxiliary circuit plug is disconnected the breaker is locked in test position. a) The earthing switch can be operated but the door of the breaker compartment cannot be closed. b) The operating mechanism is of the stored energy type. Its motor automatically charges the closing spring after each switching operation. If the motor supply fails, closing spring can be charged by hand lever. With spring fully charged, it is rated for one make and on break operation.
