masktastic
Theres a myriad of masks right here, all in one! You can go tribal in a full-on headdress, or be a mystery at a masquerade ball.

1) Punch out the mask . . .

. . . then decide if you want one big mask, or cut out a few smaller ones. Poke out eyeholes.

2) Add some decorations.

3) Secure with string and wear!

These plain white masks just wont do! Clearly, you need something more festive. Color them in however you like, or glue on glitter, sequins, or stuff you find outside.

Whoa! Check out all the different masks you can make !

robot finger puppets

Go bionic! Mix and match the robot parts here to build a bot that you can wear on your hand. Most parts attach with tape or glue; others have tabs that wrap around your fingers.

1) Cut out a robot body on the dotted lines.

2) Your fingers can be legs . . . or arms!

3) Glue on cool parts. (Find more on the next page!)

slaprocket 13
A few scissor snips, bits of tape and dabs of glue, a smack of your palm, and BLAMMO! This rockets headed for deep space. Assemble and put it in orbit!

1) Cut out your rocket parts along the dotted lines.

2) Fold the launching pad along the dashed line.

3) Fold the flaps so they overlap the purple spaces, making a dome shape. Tape. 4) Fold and glue the rocket launcher so the narrow tab is inside the tube. Spread the bottom tabs.

CONTINUED ON NEXT PAGE

5) Poke the tube up through the launching pads hole. Glue down the tabs on the inside.

6) Refold. Tape the sides of the pad down to seal air inside. 7) Fold and glue the rocket so the narrow tab is inside the tube. Crease and spread out the top flaps. 8) Wrap the rocket top into a cone, with the pale red areas overlapping inside. Glue.

9) Glue the rocket top onto the rockets tabs. 10) Slide the rocket over the launching tube. Smack and watch it take flight! (To reinflate the launching pad, blow through the tube.)

24 foldamajig
Mesmerize all with this cards countless combinations of wacky pictures! Glue it together and let the weird wonder unfold. 1) Cut out the four strips along the dotted lines. 2) Crease on both dashed lines so the strips fold backward and forward easily.

3) Line up the strips like this, so that the colored dots are matched up.

4) Glue the top strip to the vertical strips. The green and orange dots should align.

5) Glue the bottom strip so that the red and blue dots align.

6) Unfold the card to see all its cool configurations.

37 mini home cinema

Lights, camera, action! Make your directorial debut with a tiny cinema that plays a movie you scripted and animated all by yourself. (Or use the goofy sample movie strips weve made for you on the right!)

1) Find the cinema template and place it so that the yellow side is faceup. Punch out the templatedont forget the tiny slits and holes.

2) Fold the top flap down so that its flat and the holes align. Glue down.

3) Fold this flap so that if the paper is on a table in front of you, the flap stands up straight. Fold down the tabs on the side of the flap. (This is the cinemas ceiling.)

4) Fold the left wing over so that the top is flat against the tiny tab, then glue in place. The wing has a top tab with a hole in it and a long tab on the side crease them backward.

CONTINUED ON NEXT PAGE

5) Continue folding this wing over until the narrow tab is flat against the cinema back and the top holes align. Glue! Repeat on the other side.

6) Make steps: Fold the sections with holes in them up, and the lower sections down. Fold up the bottom tabs; glue them to the lower sections.

7) Fold up the bottom flap to make a floor and glue it in place. All holes should now align. Twist in two #2 pencils!

8) Cut out a strip of film. Think of a story to tell, then draw a scene from it in each square. Write your lines for each scene on the back.

9) Tape the ends of the film strip to the pencils, then . . .

10) . . . twist the left pencil clockwise. The first scene should show in the cinemas window. (To show your movie, twist the right pencil while you tell your story.)

11) Punch out the decorations (theyre three pages ahead) and affix them to the theaters front. Voil, your mini cinema!

38 spy cipher
Some things are too secret to write down the regular way! Use this gizmo to pass encoded notes to friends.

1) Cut and punch out the cipher parts.

2) Fold the top rings tabs down. Insert in the big rings hole.

3) Flip over. Glue the tabs to the small circle. The top ring should still spin freely.

TIP
Before you build your cipher, photocopy or trace this page so your correspondent can build her own decoder.

4) Fold the dial in half on the dashed line; glue. Fold the sides to make a base.

5) Glue the dial to the top ring.

TO ENCODE:

TO DECODE:

1) Find the symbol at the start of the message. Spin the dial until that symbol appears in the window. 2) Keep the symbol visible! Locate the messages first letter on the inner wheel. 3) Find the letter that lines up on the outer wheel; write it down. 4) Keep going until your message is revealed!

1) Make up a message! 2) Spin the dial and pick any symbol. Write that symbol down, and keep it visible in the window. 3) Find the first letter of your made-up message on the outer wheel. 4) Look at the inner wheel to see what letter lines up with the first letter. Jot it down next to the symbol! 5) Continue encoding, keeping the same symbol in the window. 6) Give your note (and the dial!) to a friend.

40 whirligigs!
Sure, all things that go up have to come down, but some stuff looks way cooler on the descent! Let these colorful spinners loose and watch them twirl-a-whirl all over. 2) Fold down the wings that have tiny cuts at their ends. 3) Insert the wings into the slits on the cap. 4) Give these a good flick of the wrist when you let them go!

1) Punch out the twirler and cap.

TIP

Psst! These whirligigs are actually an experiment. Play with dropping them from different heights or throwing them upside downor even on their sides to make them cartwheel! Get inventive and discover their best airborne antics.
