    Purpose
    The purpose of this document is to answer some basic questions about Intracompany Balancing in Release 12.

    Questions and Answers 1. Is there any change in the account type of Intracompany accounts in release 12?
    In Release 12, while defining Intracompany rules, the debit account should have account type as asset and credit account should have account type as liability. Applying the Patch 6595786 would allow selecting any account type for the debit and credit accounts while defining the intracompany rules. Please refer to NOTE:466812.1: R12:Accounting Setup Manager Restricts the Account Type For Intercompany and Intracompany Accounts.

    2. How to define Intracompany balancing rules when there are no balancing segment values assigned to the legal entity associated with the ledger?
    The Intracompany balancing rules have to be defined to No legal entity when there are no balancing segments assigned to the legal entity.

    3.When are intracompany rules defined for legal entities?


    Intracompany rules would be defined for a legal entity when there are balancing segment values assigned to the legal entity and that legal entity is assigned to a ledger. Intracompany rules have to be defined for a legal entity if transactions need to be done between the balancing segment values assigned to the legal entity.

    4. How to upgrade the Intracompamy rules when migrating to release 12?
