DIET Patient A loves to eat meat such as beef and pork. He eats meaty foods amlost everyday, since meats are the only available dishes and foods being selled at his working place. At breakfast, he eats eggs, sardines and rice. He also eats chicken skin during his merienda. He drinks coke every meal.

Saturated fat and cholesterol are found in animal based foods such as meat and dairy foods. Diets high in cholesterol can cause formation of plaque or fatty disposition causing Atherosclerosis or the narrowing of the arteries that decreases blood flow causing the heart to compensate and leads to Hypertension. Hypertension can cause the arteries to become constricted and hardening of the walls of the small arteries and arterioles of the kidneys. This condition is called Nephrosclerosis. It decreases the bodys ability to filter waste, causing kidney

damage. When there is kidney damage, there will be inability of the kidneys to produce erythropoietin (Erythropoietin is responsible for the production of RBCs.), thus causing Anemia.

Sodium attracts water. When there is too much salt in the blood, the salt draws more water into the blood. More water increases the volume of blood which raises blood pressure and cause hypertension. Hypertension can damage the ar
