Definitions of the LMT
LMT LMT is the operation and maintenance (OM) terminal installed with the Huawei Local Maintenance Terminal software group, and connected to the actual OM network of the related NE. The LMT is used to operate and maintain an NE. LMT PC The LMT PC is the hardware of the LMT. It is the computer installed with the LMT application. LMT Application The LMT application refers to the Huawei proprietary application, the Huawei Local Maintenance Terminal software group, which is installed on the LMT PC.

Functions of the LMT
The NodeB LMT is used for NodeB commissioning, routine maintenance, and troubleshooting. The NodeB LMT provides the following functions: Graphic user interfaces Alarm management, file management, equipment management, message tracing management, and real-time monitoring MML commands are used for overall configuration and maintenance

Description Provides access to most operations of the system.


Provides shortcut icons for easy operation. Lists various objects in a tree structure. It includes the Maintenance and MML Command tabs.

Lists details about each operation. If you select MML Command in the Object pane navigation pane, the MML client is displayed in this pane. Records details about current operation and information returned from the Output pane system. It includes the Common and Maintenance tabs. Status bar Displays the user name, connection status, and IP address.

Online Help
The LMT has two types of online help: LMT help system MML help

Local Maintenance Terminal help system

Press F1 or select Help > Help Topics or click on the toolbar to display the Local Maintenance Terminal help system. In a dialog box, press F1 to display the help information.

MML help

Type the MML command in the MML client. Press Enter or click to display the Help Information window.

Setting the IP Address of the Nodeb LMT PC

Upgrading the NodeB Software and Downloading the Data Configuration File
Click the Maintenance tab in the navigation tree.

Choose Software Management > Software Update. The Software Update dialog box is displayed

Select Upgrade NodeB Software, and then click Next. The Update NodeB Software dialog box is displayed. Select Downloading the Data Configuration File, Download NodeB Software Package, Download by Configuration, Effective Data Configuration File, and Activate NodeB Software in sequence, and set the directory for downloading the data configuration file and NodeB software package.

After uploading the XML file, NodeB will restart automatically and your laptop will automatically disconnected from NodeB. Log again to the NodeB and check the data and configuration you uploaded, if correct. Sample of Basic Command
LST VER to check the current software version DSP OMCH to check the Node B IP DSP ETHPORT for FE transmission. DSP LOCELL to check the cell status DSP CELLCFG to check cell configuration DSP BRD to check board status

Other commands in checking node b are all in LMT
