My First Electric Circuit

Instructor: Date: Jesus Calderon 7/30/12 Lecture 2 In this lecture we are going to cover the following topics: 1. Basic circuit 2. Basic circuits symbols What is an electric circuit? - A basic electric circuit consists of a voltage source, a load, a conductor, and a switch.

A battery provides the voltage source

Battery A light bulb serves as the load. The load also provides resistance

Load The electric wire is used as the conductive material. Wire The switch opens or closes the circuit, allowing or restricting the path for current to flow. If the switch is open, the circuit is incomplete and current will not flow. If the switch is close, the circuit id complete and current will flow.
