Haddington and District ASC Weekly News Week beginning 21st May 2012

Aquathlon: - I need more entries.

Entries are slowly trickling in for this new format of competition. I will be taking entries on Wednesday during the Blue Fins training session so if you havent signed up yet get your entry in then. Please help to make the aquathlon a success by taking part.

1st June 2012: - Training is cancelled for the Minnows due to the aquathlon but
unless I am flooded out with entries on Wednesday training will be on for Blue Fins and Marlins

Longcourse records: - Congratulations to the following swimmers who set new

longcourse records during the training session at Stirling Pool on Saturday. 200m Individual Medley 9 and under 10 year 11 year Rosie Berwick and Hugh Taylor Megan Watt Sarah Anderson and Angus de Burgh;

50m Butterfly 9 and under 10 year 11 year Hugh Taylor Megan Watt Sarah Anderson

Saltire Shield: -Last Friday we hosted the first leg of the new format for the
Saltire Shield competition between Haddington and Tranent. This competition is now a time banded meet using the same format as for the Coverdale cup but with faster timebands. The result was an exciting evening of closely contested races. All our swimmers swam so well that many were too fast for the timebands and after the first round we are trailing Tranent by 9 points. I am going to get Senga to pick the team for the second leg and hope that she is better at predicting the swimmers times!!!

Total Swim Meet: - We are still waiting for some of the bills to calculate the final
figure but it looks like it will around the 2,150 mark which is fantastic. Thanks to everyone one who helped achieve this. Please note that to contact Elaine Smith about the M&Ds trip on 4th June or the barbecue in North Berwick on 23rd June her email address is Treasurer@swimhaddington.co.uk Viv Hastie
