Frequency Group/Class Activity

Objectives: o To learn frequency adverbs usually, sometimes, never, always. o To utilise the frequency adverbs through sentence construction. o To extract information from a visual display and summarise the information found using frequency adverbs.

Methodology: Print out and cut the frequency words you will need a lot! Down the left side of the board elicit from the students things they do, ie: brush our teeth, go to the shops, watch TV, read a book etc. Across the top of the board write the students names Distribute the cards to the students ensuring that the students have enough to complete the task. Students approach the board and stick the frequency words under their names to match the frequency they would do the activity.

Extension: sentence composition students summarise the statistics from the board ie: o Six students usually watch television. o Ten students never go to the mall. etc.
