Oldsmar City Commissioner Linda Norris endorses Scott Swope for Sheriff
PALM HARBOR, Fla. (Sept. 6, 2012) Pinellas County Sheriff candidate Scott Swope announced today that Oldsmar City Council member Linda Norris has endorsed his candidacy. Scott Swope's extensive resume, fresh ideas, and broad support across party lines makes him the perfect candidate to serve all the citizens of Pinellas County well, Norris said. I enthusiastically endorse his campaign, and look forward to working with him to promote safety within our community. Norris has lived in Oldsmar for 10 years and has supported a number of community events, including projects to help the families of fallen police officers and help for the Seabird Sanctuary. Also, she was involved in the City Councils 2010 team for Relay for Life. Scott Swope is the Democratic candidate for Pinellas County sheriff, running against Gov. Rick Scotts interim sheriff appointee, Bob Gualtieri. The former traffic homicide investigator and magistrate is running on a platform focused on violent crimes, traffic safety, crimes against seniors and children, human trafficking, and responsible gun ownership. He has broad support across party lines includes numerous current and former elected officials, the AFL-CIO, and the Libertarian Party of Pinellas County.
