All sections listed are automatically included within the package of cover provided and no charge is made to Community Councils for provision of this insurance. Extra covers can be provided for buildings and property on request and invoices will be raised accordingly. GENERAL RESTRICTIONS Business Description: All activities and events for which the Community Council is responsible, including the organisation of fundraising, social, and sports events and the provision and management of catering. Maximum number of attendees in any one event is 250; this can be extended subject to prior notification in writing to the Insurance Team. PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE Description of Cover: Legal Liability to Third Parties for loss or damage caused negligently to property or for death, injury, illness or disease, arising out of the business as defined in the policy and including liability arising from goods sold or supplied. Indemnity to Individuals:

The Public Liability cover is extended to cover Cross Member Liability i.e. if one fellow member of the Committee was to negligently injure another member.

General Condition:

Any hazardous activities such as bonfire, fireworks displays, use of bouncy castles or any other activity of equivalent hazard must be notified in writing to the Director of Finance.

EMPLOYERS LIABILITY Description of Cover: Legal Liability to the employee caused negligently resulting in bodily injury, including death, illness and disease arising out of and in the course of employment. any one accident 10,000,000 and unlimited in period

FIDELITY GUARANTEE Description of Cover: Financial loss due to fraud. This type of cover is principally for embezzlement of community council funds. It is a condition of the policy that if the insurer pays out he gains the right to prosecute the individual(s) who are guilty of the embezzlement. MONEY Description of Cover: Limit of Indemnity: Excess Each & Every Claim: Loss of money excluding error or fraud. 250 from a locked safe or in transit. 50

PERSONAL ACCIDENT/ASSAULT Description of Cover: Compensation in the event of accidental death or permanent disability to Council members and employees whilst engaged in official duties (excluding volunteers unless specifically requested for particular projects).

LIBEL & SLANDER Description of Cover: Legal liability to third parties involving libels appearing in any publications or slanders in oral where authorisation by insured or employee was given. Description of Cover:

Loss of or damage to record books stationery and the like anywhere in the Council area from, including one Laptop Computer per Community Council anywhere in the U.K. 250 per Community Council. 100

Sum Insured: Excess Each & Every Claim:

The Local Authorities (Indemnities for Members and Officers) Order 2004 Zurich Municipal have agreed cover for Members and Officers under the above Order which became statute on 23 rd November 2004 and can be summarised as follows:(a) Where the Officer or Member is carrying on any function at the request of, with the approval of or for the purposes of, the local authority. (b) Where the exercise of functions stated in (a) involves officers or members acting in capacities other than as officers or members of the local authority. (c) Where the action or inaction complained of is outside the powers of the local authority itself or outside the powers of the officer or member individually (ultra vires), provided the officer or member reasonably believed the matter was not outside those powers.
