1. Transportation In many cases, a transformer has to travel long distance before reaching its final destination. During this journey many handling operations are needed for loading, unloading, transportation and transfer other carrier types. It is obviously that during this critical period in the lifetime of the transformer all necessary precaution have to be taken to assure safe arrival in optimal conditions. Such as : good handling, suitable lifting device, proper tied etc.

3. Loading and Un-loading
Usually, the transformer body will be lifted by crane during loading and un-loading (lifting points are clearly marked by red painted surfaces).

Always handle a transformer as gently as possible. Heavy sock or impact can damage the transformer internally without sign of damage. That is way the prescribe receiving Inspection must be followed without any deviation.

Core Grounding Megger Test
Core grounding megger test is used to determine the state of the core clamping structure, core to ground and/or clamp to ground insulation. The core is tested by accessing the core ground bushing located on the cover of the tank. (No. 137) The test is conducted by using megger voltage of 1000 V DC with values should exceed 100 M ohms.

The core grounding megger test is to be performed whenever possible
