Because of the weight of the shift allocation task, I decided to more cautious and
take time in extending a lot of freedom s the allocation will mirror the care
given to the patients and overall end result during the shift. Here also I found
that it was essential to revisit day one and two just to enforce the theory to
practice.???DAY 8-15??This was final step of the training where delegate perform
the duty with much degree of freedom. They perform the duty in seven shifts with
confidence and accuracy. At this stage I was confident that they both could decide
and take action but because they were not yet charge nurses or nurse in charge I
had to authorize their work.

Although this was the final stage of the delegation process I emphasized to the
delegate that even though my intention was to develop them to perform the task but
combination of this task and overall charge nurse responsibility can take longer I
told them �be patient and confidence and also that from the past seven am assured
the they can perform the task.

For the reason of self evaluation I asked them how do they view their own
performance?. First delegatee answered that �because there is no complain from
other member of staff it means that they are doing go job�. Another delegatee said
�if you ask me, am doing good job ,fewer mistakes and most of mistakes done at the
beginning of the exercise and he added that I wouldn�t call them mistakes any way
but omission ,which can be rectified during the shift� . Feed back was positive
and credit was given.
