Your SALVATION? Part 2 Sermon #289

00:000 Joseph Prince Im preaching messages on STRONG COMFORT and CONSOLATION and FULL ASSURANCE because the Fathers desire is for His children to come to Him boldly. You know, come to Him not like an abused dog like a dog who has been abused and every time his master raises his hand to just fix his hair the dog flinches in fear thinking the master is about to hit him, and you know that dog has been abused. The Father wants His children to come to Him boldly knowing there is NO MORE JUDGMENT and that all the JUDGMENT is passed (passed-over / the lambs pass-over blood painted on the mantel). Amen! And what is in front of you is just HOPE and a beautiful future. Amen! All the Judgment is passed, Praise God! Now some people dont believe that and unfortunately among them are people who seem to be like you know theologians and people who preach sometimes in such a way that you can lose your Salvation. And we are touching on this series of whether you can lose your SALVATION looking at all the passages that normally people bring up to try to enforce the point, their point, that you can lose your SALVATION. But actually if you take a verse out of its setting, remember context is king, if you take a verse out of its context, alright take a verse out of context, you have con left, you can con anybody. Alright you must leave the verse in its context, Amen! So thats what we intend to do and because of that were going to dive right into it. Are you ready? What about Hebrews 10:9-31 Hebrews 10:9-31 26 For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries. 28Anyone who has rejected Moses law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace? Wow so when someone just reads this out of its context, guess what? They get fearful, alright, when actually, the context here has to be seen in its context. First and foremost, notice what Chapter is this? Its Chapter 10, alright.

Verse 28 is the last verse of Hebrews 9:28 this will introduce you to Hebrews 10, okay. Hebrews 9:28 28 so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation. Now this SALVATION is not saved from eternal damnation. That, He accomplished in His first-coming. In His second coming, He is coming back to bring about and accomplish our NEW BODIES, of the SALVATION of our BODIES. Lets look at the purpose of the second-coming okay To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation. Now this word apart from sin in Greek is a very rich word, alright. It means nothing to say to sin, nothing in reference to sin, alright. Here is the Amplified translation very clear Hebrews 9:28 (AMP) 28 Even so it is that Christ, having been offered to take upon Himself and bear as a burden the sins of many once and once and for all, will appear a second time, not to carry any burden of sin nor to deal with sin, When He comes again it is not to bear the burden of sins of the many once and for all once and for all How many times can you do once and for all? This is a stupid question actually, but once and for all, right! When Jesus comes again He will appear a second time, not to carry any burden of sin nor to deal with sin, Now this is the sin of His people, not the world, He will deal with sin in the world, yes, but when it comes to His people, us and our is the subject here, His people, He will NOT deal with your sin anymore. Why? Because in Gods mind when Christ bore your sins as the Lamb of God IT IS COMPLETE once and for all. So pastor Prince today if I lose my temper and all that KNOW ONCE AND FOR ALL your sins have been TRANSFERRED, its gone and pick yourself up and LIVE FOR God! Amen! So He tells you when He comes again He is NOT going to carry any burden of sin for His people nor to deal with sin in His people. Praise God, are you excited about that? Why? Why will He NOT carry our sins anymore? Why? Because its ONCE AND FOR ALL He has DONE IT! Therefore because of that Hebrews 10:1 1 For the law, having a shadow of the good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with these same sacrifices, 2which they offer continually year by year, make those who approach perfect.

Now prefect here is not perfect in your actions or seamless perfection. If you read Hebrews 9 it talks about perfect but then into your CONSCIENCE. Let me explain PERFECT CONSCIENCE your actions may not be perfect but you can have a perfect conscience. Lets say you owe someone money, right $10,000 dollars every time you are with that person you feel your conscience has a consciousness of debt, Amen! Supposing someone heard about your predicament and this person, now this is unheard of, I know, this person PAYS your debt, but he gives your creditor $1Million dollars for your debt, that is an OVERPAYMENT. But this church, is what God did. If you know the VALUE of the person Jesus, Hes an OVERPAYMENT for all your sin-debt. Its almost as if God PAID an OVERPAYMENT. So when you know that you owe this guy $10,000 dollars right and this guy has received $1Million dollars this guy has been ENRICHED because of you. That is exactly what happened in SALVATION. If you can say this God becomes a GAINER, the injured party becomes a GAINER because of GRACE. What a GLORIOUS REDEMPTION. 00:09 Joseph Prince Now next time when you see your Creditor will you be afraid of him, no, you look at him with a PERFECT CONSCIENCE. PERFECT CONSCIENCE is what there is no consciousness of debt. Okay so we come before God, God does NOT want you to have a consciousness of sin, Im getting ahead of myself but that is what it says in the next verse, the next verse tells you Hebrews 10:2 2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? For the worshipers, once purified, would have had no more consciousness of sins. perfect tense means once and for all it can never be repeated. Amen! Our feelings can feel impure, we can feel dirty, we can feel unrighteous, but in Gods sight you are righteous you are PURIFIED. Perfect tense can NOT be repeated, Amen! Amen, Church? Praise God! Lets go on Once you are PURIFIED you would have had no more consciousness of sins. Hebrews 10:3 3 But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins every year. those sacrifices referred to here are the sacrifices in the Old Testament. Now a reminder of sins is the opposite of what Christ did. What Christ did accomplished no more consciousness of sins. Reminder of sins every year means what, its imperfect, thats what all the blood of bulls and goats in the Old-Testament they keep on reminding the people, why? Because they keep on coming back, coming back every year they must come back, its imperfect. What happened is that Jesus came on and Jesus said

Hebrews 19:9 9 then He said, Behold, I have come to do Your will, O God. He takes away the first that He may establish the second. So Jesus saw that all the sacrifices of the Old-Testament the constant repeated sacrifices of offering the lambs upon the altar they never, never satisfied God, they never took away their sins, it only covered their sins every year. So Jesus said to the Father, this before he even became a baby, God Ive come to do Your will, He offered Himself. Praise God, amazing GRACE. I come to do Your will, and what is the will of God, would you like to know the will of God? Hebrews 19:9 9 then He said, Behold, I have come to do Your will, O God. He takes away the first that He may establish the second. He takes away the first which is the law that He may establish the second the COVENANT OF GRACE. Amen! The will of God that Jesus accomplished is to take away the first, the law, and bring in GRACE. Amen! But you can do away with agreements unless you PAY the penalty, okay you understand? Covenant of LAW says you dont obey (PAY) you die. If you obey (PAY) you will be blessed. But all of us we are on the disobedient side and somebody must die (be sacrificed) Jesus died (for us as the ultimate sacrifice / security / surety / seed-deposit / collateral / pledge / trust) to finish-off the final Covenant of LAW, are you with me. Christ is the FULFILLMENT of the LAW. Christ has REDEEMED us from the curse of the LAW to bring what? The second, what is second? GRACE! Are you under the first (LAW) or are you under the second (GRACE)?

00:12 Joseph Prince Now lets go on, so Ill call this the Three-Ws The first W is the Will of God the Father; Hebrews 10:10 10 By that will we have been sanctified (or made Holy) through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. Through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ we have been made Holy for how long? ONCE AND FOR ALL! Wow! We have been what? SANCTIFIED, made HOLY how? Through our offerings, through our works, through our obedience? No, through another through the offering of His body Jesus Christ we have been SANCTIFIED for how long ONCE AND FOR ALL until your next sin, no, ONCE AND FOR ALL.

Lets move on alright Hebrews 10:11 11 And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But watch Jesus now, watch Jesus Hebrews 10:12 12 But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for shins forever, sat down at the right hand of God, Why, why sat down? Its FINISHED. Its FINISHED. So this is the other W the work of Jesus the Son. Alright the first W is the will of God the Father, the other W is the work of Jesus the Son, okay. Hebrews 10:13 13 from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool. 14 For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified. 15 But the Holy Spirit also witnesses to us; for after He had said before, Now the third W is the witness of the Holy Spirit, guess what? We got all the TRIUNE God here in this Chapter 1. The will of God the Father; 2. The works of Jesus the Son; 3. The witness of the Holy Spirit. What does the Holy Spirit witness? Because in Jeremiah 31 it talks about the NEW COVENANT. The Holy Spirit witnesses to us Hebrews 10:16 16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the LORD: I will put My laws into their hearts and in their minds I will write them 17 then He adds, Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more. No more is a double negative in the Greek Once upon a time He remembered your sins, now no more He remembers your sins, why, because of ONE sacrifice for sins FOREVER has been accomplished. You see we must understand all THREE Ws to understand verse 26 because once our sins are REMITTED Hebrews 10:18 18 Now where there is remission of these, there is no longer an offering for sin.

No longer an offering for sin... There is no use for going back to the Temple offering repeatedly the same sacrifices which can NEVER take away sins, why? The sins have been REMITTED, there is no more an offering for sin, alright! Hebrews10:19 19 Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, THEREFORE, when you find a THEREFORE in the bible why is it THEREFORE? THEREFORE means based on the THREE Ws alright the will of God the Father, the work of Jesus the son, and the witness of the Holy Spirit now we can what 19Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus Wow! Hallelujah! Amen! And instead of looking at all these verses in Hebrews 10, what do we do If we sin willfully there remains no more sacrifice how much sorrow this is how some people are when they what about Hebrews 6 and what about Hebrews 10? They hardly read Hebrews 10. So lets come to that verse, okay next verse Hebrews 10:20 20 By a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, The old Way was a dying way but now Jesus Christ comes to God by a NEW and LIVING WAY. Come on shout to me Living, SHOUT to me LIVING. Do you know what it means or not? Do you understand the implication LIVING WAY? The more you come, the more you LIVE! Hebrews 10:21 21 and having a High Priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. 24And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works. 25not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another and so much the more as you see the Day approaching. Thats why we come here on Sunday, every Sunday and what happens is that some of the people they know that they join the Christians in those days leaving the Temple in those days means persecutions. Do you know what they do? The professors, they neglected the assembly and they go back to the Temple. Okay, now right after this verse 25, verse 26 says Hebrews 10:26 26 For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, Do you see the context? In other words if you forsake Christ and the ONCE AND FOR ALL SACRIFICE and you forsake the assembly of Gods people, these people are NOT saved, and you go back to the Temple of sacrifices which can NEVER take away sins anyway, what are you doing? You are sinning willfully. We

sin willfully, we turn our back on Christ with open eyes, referring to nonbelievers, right, who know the Truth and they turn their back there remains no more SACRIFICE on this side. Its ALL ACCOMPLISHED. Alright, and then what Hebrews 10:27-29 27 but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries 28 Anyone who has rejected Moses law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29 Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace? You see he thinks the blood of Jesus is what the same as the blood of bulls and goats. Well you know what, going back to the Temple and offering the blood sacrifice is the same, its NOT the same. That BLOOD is ETERNAL efficacy is FOREVER, this is only for 12 months. Right are you with me? Now he is counting the blood as a common thing, the BLOOD OF CHRIST. he insulted the Spirit of what? Its a sin against GRACE. Hmmm, notice that. God gives us so much its like this God has so much things in His hands, He offers and you know what you do, you slap His hands, thats INSULTING the GRACE of God. There remains no more SACRIFICE. Hebrews 10:30-31 30 For we know Him who said, Vengeance is Mine, I will repay, says the Lord. And again, the LORD will judge His people. 31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. These two quotations are from the song of Moses written for Israel. For the song of Moses chapter 32 of Deuteronomy Deuteronomy 32:35-36 35 Vengeance is Mine, and recompense: Their foot shall slip in due time; For the day of their calamity is at hand, And the things to come hasten upon them. 36For the LORD will judge His people And have compassion on His servants, When, He sees that there power is gone, And there is- no one remaining, bond or free.

Go back to Hebrews 10, it was written for the Jewish people. You know people say, the Lord will Judge His people thinking Christians No, His people He is referring to the Jewish people. The doctrine of Christ is serious with heaven. God is serious about His Son. How He treats His Son is how He treats you. If you embrace His son, He embraces you. Reject His Son, God rejects you. Accept His Son, God accepts you.

You see my ministry is to lift up His Son. And guess what, God has lifted our ministry all over the world, Amen! And all I do is lift up Jesus Christ. What you do with His Son is what Hell do with you. Amen! Lets see how this chapter ends shall we, alright it ends like this Hebrews 10:39 39 But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul. Wow, what a way to end the entire chapter. Its very clear we are NOT those who drawback to perdition or destruction, we are those believe to the saving of the soul. All of us are believers of the saving of the soul, Amen! By the way I need to answer one objection before we close, go to the passage Hebrews 10:9-31 27 but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries. Do you see the word judgment there, alright it is the word (krisis) in the Greek. Now read John 5:24 Jesus own words John 5:24 24 Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. Now I prefer the original, the original says, Amen, Amen He is about to say something DOUBLE-TRUTH Now in the new translations, Most Assuredly John 5:24 24 Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment (krisis), but has passed from death into life. Can anything be more clearer? Is there a certain scripture, huh? Is there any suppositions or doubts about this passage, no, very clear! We will never come into what? We believers will never come into JUDGMENT. We have passed from death into LIFE. The same word is used Hebrews 10, alright these people are fearful now of what, of JUDGMENT (KRISIS) which true believers may never fear. Okay now look at verse 29 Hebrews 10:27-29 29 counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace?

Someone will say the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing But pastor, he was sanctified, you see sanctified the word sanctified is there. So he was a believer, no unbelievers can be sanctified. Let me explain when Jesus died the nation of Israel is a special nation with God, how many of you understand they have a SPECIAL COVENANT, alright? So when He died they are all SANCTIFIED, they are not all SAVED, they MUST BELIEVE ON CHRIST, they were all set apart. How many understand that? To show that an unbeliever can be SANCTIFIED let me prove that to you when it comes to marital relationships. Turn to 1st Corinthians 7:13-14 1st Corinthians 7:13-14 13 And a woman who has a husband who does not believe, if he is willing to live with her, let her not divorce him. By the way this whole passage is talking about marriage, okay, not about dating. 1st Corinthians 7:13-14 13 And a woman who has a husband who does not believe, if he is willing to live with her, let her not divorce him. 14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband; otherwise your children would be unclean, but now they are holy. But hes unbeliever, he is SANCTIFIED by the wife. Otherwise you children would be unclean in the eyes of God. Amen! So if you have an unbelieving spouse, dont worry God treats your family like its a believing family. You husbands body is sanctified because of you. Amen! But if is he SAVED? No, he must make his personal decision to put his TRUST in Christ. But is he SANCTIFIED? There goes the theory that only Christians are SANCTIFIED. He receives many miracles because of you. He will still need to be SAVED and your children are NOW HOLY. Is that beautiful! I hope that we have imparted STRONG CONSOLATION, FULL ASSURANCE OF FAITH when you read next time we sin willfully understand it is NOT referring to true believers, it is referring to those who turn their backs with open eyes after having received the knowledge of the TRUTH and go back to their Temple Sacrifices. Amen! And finally 80 A.D General Titus of Rome came in and burned down the Temple and now the Jewish people have nothing to sacrifice with. All those who went back ultimately came to nothing FIERY INDIGNATION it was burned down. Okay, Church ONE SACRIFICE FOR SINS FOREVER!
