MEANING OF ALKENE
Hydrocarbon that general formula CnH2n with n=1,2,3. Hydrogen is twice the number of carbon atoms. Has double covalent bond An unsaturated hydrocarbon because it has a double covalent bond and do not have the maximum number of hydrogen atoms possible

Methene do not exist because an alkene needs at least two carbon atoms to form a double bond covalent bond, which is the functional group of alkene. Each carbon atom must share 4 covalent bonds with other carbon atoms or with hydrogen atoms. Each hydrogen atoms must form 1 covalent bond. A double bond is present to indicate that it is an alkene.
The carbon in the long chain is numbered, starting from the carbon nearest to thr double covalent bond.
