DISPOSABLE SURGICAL CAPS & MASKS

Disposable surgical caps and masks are becoming very popular these days owing to their versatility of use by surgeons who wear the mask and cap while performing an operation and then these are disposed of after the operation that is why they are called disposable surgical caps and masks. In modern times surgery has advanced considerably with lots of innovation, which necessitates surgical operational measures to be adopted. For that reason, these disposable surgical caps and masks are extensively required. While manufacturing disposable surgical caps and masks, prior to packing, these are made sterile (i.e asceptic) by sterilization process so that no infection pervades while performing an operation. The raw material used for the manufacture of these disposable surgical caps and masks is tissue paper; which has very fine pores which permit the passage of air to the surgeon for breathing while performing an operation.

CREPE BANDAGE
A crepe bandage is a lightweight bandage that is generally applied to provide warmth, insulation and support in a variety of medical health situations. It can be used to treat sprains and strains, to help correct fractures and other bone problems in orthopedics, to serve as a compression bandage to support already bandaged varicose veins, and to support surgical gauze bandage dressings; a crepe bandage is never directly applied to wounds. The characteristic feature of this bandage is its elastic, stretchable property. This allows the bandage to be wrapped without trouble and with comfort over different body parts. It is very easy and quick to apply a crepe elastic bandage. It is important, however, to make sure that it is not applied too tight, otherwise the bandage may inadvertently act as a tourniquet, cut off blood circulation, and even create a potentially lifethreatening situation. The bandage layers should allow for easy movement of limbs and should be able to expand if there is any swelling.

I.V. CANNULA SET

A Cannula is a tube inserted into a cavity or another tube in the body for various purposes, usually by percutaneous insertion into a blood vessel and for long period of time. Apart from blood compatibility , the main problem associated with such devices is to prevent motion, irritation, infection, and the formation of a sinus tract with weeping of fluid. These objectives can be achieved by anchoring the devices in various ways. For example, the attachment of material containing holes or fenestrations for tissue in growth or a textured surfaces interest with the surrounding tissues and a bond is formed. Unfortunately, however, these texturised surfaces may be extruded gradually as a natural consequence of cell maturation which results in cells migrating toward the surface. Since the texturised implant is bonded to these cells, it is also carried toward the surface and extruded. It may be possible to solve this problem by special surgical techniques. In the case of prolonged renal dialysis, cannulas are usually placed on the nondominant forearm of the patient to allow ready access to the blood vessels. These cannula often cause infection, hemorrhaging or irritation, new surgical techniques may alleviate these problems.

SURGICAL TAPE (ADHESIVE TAPE)

Surgical tape or surgical adhesive tape is a strip of cotton fabric whose one side is asted with the antiseptic paste. These tapes are used for readymade bandages. No any dditional medicine is required in this case. At the starting of the medical age the wounds(small) cuts, pimples etc. were cured by using specific roots of trees and plants. As the medical science became advanced, the gauge has been started in practice for binding the medicine with the wounds cuts etc. ew introductions in the bandage field come up and these surgical tape is the latest one. There are some parts of body where the cotton bandage is not possible to be tied and at such places these adhesive tapes are frequently used. This is the most important dvantage of this tape. Another importance is that the bandaging by this tape consumes very few time. And hence saves much time. This tape is very convenient in use and quite handy.

SURGICAL GLOVES FROM LATEX

In the light of the remarkable performance of the latex products sector. It is no wonder that the sector has now attracted a greater share of the interest interest in manufacturing. However the smallness of domestic market will have to be realised and new entrepreneur will have to look towards international demand. The consumption of NR latex is increasing continuously in world since 1980. Some of the latex product like surgical gloves are likely to have very high demand. Malaysia with its comparative cost advantage can exploit this opportunity. Malaysia at present in satisfying 3/4 of world demand for N.R. latexes. But in latex products its share is much smaller than this. The demand for Gloves and condoms is increasing very fast due to AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndroine) Malaysia can provide more cheaper gloves and explist some 50 percent of the world market. It was found that the use of rubber made inspection gloves and examination would prevent direct human contact with AIDS (Acquired Immune deficiency syndromes) virus-contaminated objects and thus save them from contracting the deadly and dreaded disease. Solid brown or white in color. Thickness of gloves is around 0.010 inches.

BOTTLING PLANT (COUNTRY LIQUOR)
The history of distilling potable spirit is for shorter than that of making non-distilled alcoholic beverages. There are evertheless several very early references which can be taken to indicate that a potable spirit (like country liquor) was known many thousands of years ago. The earliest regarding excessive consumption of potable distilled spirit, i.e. country liquor and other products, appear to have come from China, some 1000 years B.C. Aristotle later mentions purifying sea water by evaporation, and also wine which produces a spirit. For centuries the art of distilling remained firmly in the hands of alchemists. Herbs had long been thought to cure various maladies, agriurduly for Jaundice, fox glore, for blisters and it would seem that the alchemists argued that, if the juice of one of these herbs could be, say, quadrupled in strength, then the efficiency of cure would be multiplied four fold. The alchemists were responsible for many improvements in the art of distilling. An Overview of the Indian Liquor Industry, The alcohol industry is very important for the government. It generates an estimated Rs. 16,000 crore per annum in spite of the fact that the per capita consumption of liquor in India is the lowest in the world.

It is mainly used for chilling purposes for longer shelf life by checking growth of thermophilic bacterials in the products. It is used for chilling of various chemicals which are thermosensitive in nature and loses their original characteristics at higher temperatures. The ice packs have vary unique important characteristic, that it can be repeatedly re-used several times by freezing and using, again and again. Its cooling and chilling characteristics remain as usual for very long period. It is now one of the conveniently useable items which directly substitutes the consumption of ice or ultimately reduces the ice application in various transportation methods. Its important property is that it donot leave water in the system like ice, when absorbs heat it starts melting and leaving behind the water.

Plasticizers (UK = plasticisers) or dispersants are additives that increase the plasticity or fluidity of a material. The dominant applications are for plastics, especially polyvinyl chloride (PVC). The properties of other materials are also improved when blended with plasticizers including concrete, clays, and related products. The worldwide market for plasticizers in 2000 was estimated to be several million tons per year. Throughout the period from 1970 to 1995, the worldwide plasticizer markets grew at rates above the various GNPs; however this trend has started to decrease in North America and in Europe. In recent years, the average growth rate in those regions has ranged between 2 and 3%, with projected growth rates of only 1/2%.

PLASTIC GRANULES FROM PLASTIC WASTE AND PLASTIC ROPE (SUTLI) MAKING PLANT
A plastic is any one of a large and varied group of materials which consists of an essential ingredient combinations of carbon with oxygen, hydrogen, nitrogen and other organic and inorganic elements. While solid in the finished state, at some stage in its manufacture it has been or can be formed into various shapes by flow-usually through the application singly or together of heat and pressure. Thermoplastics are those which soften under heat and again harden when cooled and this process can be repeated a number of times without any appreciable was in the physical properties. Plastics today have a prominent place in the spectrum of materials frequently used by materials engineers and designers. They have earned this placed on the basis of performance at a price, plus the apparently unlimited ability of the plastics industry to develop new plastics or new grades of older plastics to meet specific needs of modern industry. With this status and the tremendous growth of new uses has come an important need for meaningful data on fundamental plastics behaviour under realistic stresses and strains, couched in engineering terms, in short, engineering properties as contrasted with data sheet properties.

CORRUGATED BOXES PLANT (SEMI AUTOMATIC)

Though no authentic record is available about when any thing like a paper box was first made, it is held that the ancient Egyptians made certain kinds of containers from an aquatic plant supplied fibers for paper sheets. There are also records, though not clear of reaptacles made from rice paper in china during the Eleventh Century. In America and England corrugated cartons had been made at least early as in 10th Century, but the cartons were all hand made. Corrugated cartons were firstly developed by the Thomsan and Norris Company in 1980, and the first regular slotted style containers were the products of the Robert Gair Company. The first use of corrugated cartons in freight shipments was for lamp and Chimenys. Official recognition of these containers by the official freight classification committee came in 1900.

PROJECT PROPOSALS FOR NEW ENTREPRENEURS

ORGANIC CHEMICALS & SOLVENTS
Phthalide is an organic chemical compound with the molecular formula C8H6O2. It is a lactone that serves as the core chemical structure for a variety of more complex chemical compounds including dyes (such as phenolphthalein), fungicides (such as tetrachlorophthalide, often referred to simply as phthalide) and natural oils (such as butylphthalide). Phthalides are a group of secondary metabolites or phytochemical compounds classified under lactones. Phthalides are known to provide health benefits by stimulating and/or inhibiting various enzymes in the body. Studies have shown that these compounds can help lower blood pressure, provide an anti-inflammatory function, improve circulation, rid the body of toxins such as uric acid crystals, inhibit malignancy and offer a calming effect. Many of the major phthalides have been isolated from plants mainly medicinal herbs, celery stalks, celery seeds and essential oils of their plant of origin. There are numerous reports on the bioactivities of phthalides but investigations concerning the mode of action are few. Phthalides (isobenzofuranone), a family of five-membered lactones in plants, are important building blocks in a large number of biologically active compounds. 3Arylphthalides, for example, are useful intermediates for the synthesis of tri and tetracyclic natural products such as anthracycline antibiotics.

TAMARIND KERNEL POWDER

Tamarind powder is produced from the Kernels of Tamarinds. It is used in the manufacture of the tamarind gum. Tamarind gum is seed gum with potential industrial application. It is obtained from the seed kernels of the tamarind. Free, tamarind indica, which is cultivated in India and Bangladesh. The seed are a by product from production of tamarind pulp which is used as a food flavour. Seed production is 1,50,000 t/year. The seeds consist of a hard outer testor which can be removed by a variety of heating and milling procedures and a kernel (70%) which after separation is milled to give tamarind kernel powder consisting of gum 65% protein 15-20%, Oil 6% and Ash 3%. Tamarind trees (Tamarindus indica) are found naturalized almost throughout the plains and sub Himalyan tracts of India. The pulp of tamarind fruit known as emli is used as an acid flavouring agent. The seed constitute 34 % of the fruits and contain on an average 60% starch. Statistical information on the annual production of fruit pulp is not available. But of seed is upto some extent available. Dandakarnya region in M.P. and Koraput district in Orissa are also very rich in tamarind trees. This industry is resource based requiring raw materials in bulk and should be located near the source of raw materials.

P.V.C. INSULATION TAPE

The original electrical insulating tape was made of cloth tape impregnated with Chattertons compound, an adhesive material manufactured using Gutta-percha. This type of tape was often used to insulate soldered splices on knob and tube wiring. In the early 1940s, vinyl plastic emerged as a versatile material for a wide range of applications, from shower curtains to cable insulation. A major ingredient in vinyl film was tricresyl phosphate (TCP), which was used as a plasticizer. Unfortunately, TCP tended to migrate, giving the surface of the vinyl film an oily quality and degrading every tape adhesive known. Research chemists and engineers at 3M set out to create a dependable, pressure-sensitive tape made of vinyl film that would have the required electrical, physical and chemical properties. Experiments were conducted combining new plasticizers with the white, flour-like vinyl resin. Finally, in January 1946, inventors Snell, Oace, and Eastwold of 3M applied for a patent for a vinyl electrical tape with a plasticizer system and non-sulfur-based rubber adhesive that were compatible. The first commercially available version of the tape was sold for use as a wire-harness wrapping. Interestingly, this original black tape wasnt black at all.

WALNUT & PINUS (CHILGOZA) OIL, SHELL POWDER PROCESSING PLANT

A walnut is an edible seed of any tree of the genus Juglans, especially the Persian walnut, Juglans regia. Broken nutmeats of the eastern black walnut, from the tree Juglans nigra, are also commercially available in small quantities, as are foods prepared with butternut nutmeats. Walnut seeds are high density source of nutrients, particularly proteins and essential fatty acids. Walnut seeds, like other tree nuts, must be processed and stored properly. Poor storage makes walnut seeds susceptible to insect and fungal mold infestations; the latter produces aflatoxin - a potent carcinogen. Mold infested walnut seed batch should not be screened then consumed; the entire batch should be discarded. In certain parts of the world, walnuts are locally known as waln|sse, noix, nuiz, nuc, kurumi. Walnuts are rounded, single-seeded stone fruits of the walnut tree. The walnut fruit is enclosed in a green, leathery, fleshy husk. This husk is inedible. After harvest, the removal of the husk reveals the wrinkly walnut shell, which is in two halves.

ENGINEERING COLLEGE
India has the potential to be a global technology leader. Indian industry is competing globally in software and even in areas such an automobiles, chemicals and engineering equipment. A critical issue for the future success of Indian industry is the growth of engineering education in India. Since independence, the initial focus of government policy was to provide the engineers required for the developing economy. The setting up of the Indian Institutes of Technology, the Regional Engineering colleges (and their subsequent conversion to the National Institutes of Technology) were targeted at achieving this. Indian engineers established their reputation for engineering and design skills. Engineering in India is preferred option for bright students at the 10+2 level. This has resulted in a spurt in engineering colleges primarily in the private sector. Despite this, industry leaders complain about the absence of quality engineers for their industry. This is accompanied by significant unemployment rates amongst graduating engineers. There is a dearth of publicly available data on Indias engineering education system. We document the trend in the student intake, number of engineering graduates, postgraduates and Ph.Ds. In order to obtain these we used assumptions of Output / Sanctioned strength ratios and their trends.

PSA BASED NITROGEN GENERATOR

The pressure swing adsorption processes for the continuous and regenerative purification of air and gases have been well established since the discovery of the basic process over fifty years ago. Recent advances in the adsorption process have resulted in improved separation efficiencies and lower energy consumption. Purity requirements for clean, dry air have become more stringent in recent years to meet the increased demands of industry and laboratories. Thirty years ago, pure air was required to have a moisture dew point of 400C or lower and less than 1 ppmv hydrocarbon content (as methane). The levels were gradually lowered to -760C dew point and less than 0.5 ppmv total hydrocarbon content. With advances in technology, the purity requirements were reduced to less than 1 ppbv for semiconductor photolithography applications, fuel cell development, automobile emissions testing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and other critical applications.

POTATO POWDER
The potato is a starchy, tuberous crop from the perennial Solanum tuberosum of the Solanaceae family (also known as the nightshades). The word potato may refer to the plant itself as well as the edible tuber. In the region of the Andes, there are some other closely related cultivated potato species. Potatoes were first introduced outside the Andes region four centuries ago, and have become an integral part of much of the worlds cuisine. It is the worlds fourth-largest food crop, following rice, wheat, and maize. Long-term storage of potatoes requires specialised care in cold warehouses. Wild potato species occur throughout the Americas, from the United States to Uruguay. The potato was originally believed to have been domesticated independently in multiple locations, but later genetic testing of the wide variety of cultivars and wild species proved a single origin for potatoes in the area of present-day southern Peru (from a species in the Solanum brevicaule complex), where they were domesticated 7,000-10,000 years ago. Following centuries of selective breeding, there are now over a thousand different types of potatoes.

RECLAIMED RUBBER
By the application of heat and chemical agents followed by intense mechanical working to ground vulcanised scrap or worn out rubber tires, tubes and waste rubber articles, a substantial regeneration on devulcanisation of the rubber compound to its original plastic state is effected, thus permitting the product to be compounded, processed and revulcanised. Reclaiming is essentially depolymerisation and misnomerically called devulcanisation although combined sulphur is not removed. By this depolymerisation, the reclaimed rubber shows decreased resistance to deformation at ordinary temperature; thus loosing its elastic nature and become less resistant to compression, stretching or swelling. Reclaimed rubber was born because a secondary source of rubber was urgently needed. Entire rubber industry was growing so fast in the early days and there was no enough crude rubber to substantiate the demand. Reclaim rubber soon become indispensable. Apart from this, tire pose a disposal problem and therefore utilized as basic raw material in the form of ground vulcanised waste (crumb rubber) or converted to reusable state-reclaimed rubber.

COMMERCIAL DAIRY FARMING

It is seen at most places that a Dairy Farmer is not aware of the economics of his day to day business. This is because Dairy has been a traditional form of business, which is being carried on by generations together. The pattern particularly of the feeding & watering has been quite the same for a long time. It is commonly seen that most of the Farmers who keep animals for Milk have very little or NO idea about the expenses (per day) invloved in raising the animals. It is interesting to note that the farmer is even unaware of the fact that the feeding cost of his animal comprises of more than 80% of the total cost of raising the animals. Perhaps the main reason for this may be as he grows the majority of the fodder in his own land he has never bothered about its cost. Pertaining to the feeding & drinking habits many fallacies (misconceptions) exist viz. It is advisable to feed animal with wet/cooked feed. Scientifically the feed fed to animal should be chewed (& ruminated) so that the saliva mixes with the feed. The saliva contains phosphates & bicarbonates, which help in maintaining the pH of the Rumen, which help in proper digestion of the Feed. Good digestion ensures wellbeing & the production is dependent on the same.

UNDECYLENIC ACID
Undecylenic acid has a long history as antifungal drug. It is used to treat some types of fungus infections. Undecylenic acid is a natural fungicide and is FDA approved in over the counter medications for skin disorders or problems. It is the active ingredient in medications for skin infections, and relieves itching, burning, and irritation. For example, it is used against fungal skin infections such as athletes foot, ringworm, and Candida albicans. It is also used in the treatment of psoriasis. Most organic fatty acids are fungicidal and have been used for centuries as antimicrobial agents, originally in the manufacture of soaps. In the last 50 years, however, they have found use both in vitro as yeast and mold inhibitors in food stuffs, and as topical and systemic antifungals. Undecylenic acid is an economical antifungal agent and is the active ingredient in many topical over the counter antifungal preparations. Undecylenic acid has been shown to be approximately six times more effective as an antifungal than caprylic acid, and is effective in maintaining a healthy balance of intestinal and vaginal flora.

TMT STEEL BARS

Thermo mechanically treated (TMT) steel, can be described as a new-generation-highstrength steel having superior properties such as weldability, strength, ductility and tensility, which meet the highest international quality standards. Under thermo mechanical treatment (TMT), the steel bars are passed through a specially designed water-cooling system where they are kept till the outer surface of the bars becomes colder while the core remains hot. This creates a temperature gradient in the bars. When the bars are taken out of the cooling system, the heat flows from the core to the outer surface, further tempering of the bars, which helps them attain a higher yield strength. The resulting heat-treated structure imparts superior strength and toughness to the bars. Cost Estimation Plant Capacity 284 MT./Day Land & Building (Area 20000 sq.mt.)Rs. 6.35 Cr. PARTICLE BOARD AND LAMINATED PARTICLE BOARD

Particleboard is a classic wood-based panel, made from high quality particles of wood/bagasse. It is a low density board with density range from 650 kgs to 750 kgs per cubic meter.Particleboard Plants are specially designed to produce an effective alternative for wood-based panel products. The Plant utilizes low cost agri-wastes resulting in a high quality & versatile panel product with virtually unlimited applications. Particleboard is accepted universally. Particle board is as the name suggests a board made of particles of wood. Thus particle board is a board made from wood which is bonded by means of a resin under the application of pressure and temperature. The organic binder resin used are normally urea formaldehyde if the particle board is to be used for interior use, or phenol formaldehyde is used if this is used in external exposure or under severe internal conditions. Melamine formaldehyde is also used. The first plant to produce particle board commercially was built in Bremen, West Germany in 1941. The first three layer particle board was marketed in Switzerland in 1945.

PLYWOOD AND PLYBOARDS

Plywood is made of three or more thin layers of wood bonded together with an adhesive. Each layer of wood, or ply, is usually oriented with its grain running at right angles to the adjacent layer in order to reduce the shrinkage and improve the strength of the finished piece. Most plywood is pressed into large, flat sheets used in building construction. Other plywood pieces may be formed into simple or compound curves for use in furniture, boats, and aircraft. The use of thin layers of wood as a means of construction dates to approximately 1500 B.C. when Egyptian craftsmen bonded thin pieces of dark ebony wood to the exterior of a cedar casket found in the tomb of King TutAnkh-Amon. This technique was later used by the Greeks and Romans to produce fine furniture and other decorative objects. In the 1600s, the art of decorating furniture with thin pieces of wood became known as veneering, and the pieces themselves became known as veneers.

CARBOXY METHYL STARCH

The chemical modification of polysaccharides is the most important route to modify the properties of the naturally occurring biopolymers and to use this renewable resource in the context of sustainable development. In general, all chemical reactions known from low molecular organic chemistry may be carried out. However, up to now only a limited number of products is produced commercially. Recent research and development is focused on the improvement of the known products and synthesis paths as well as on new derivatives and alternative synthesis concepts. Carboxymethylation of polysaccharides is a widely studied conversion since it is simple and leads to products with a variety of promising properties. In general, the polysaccharide is activated with aqueous alkali hydroxide mostly sodium hydroxide and converted with monochloroacetic acid or its sodium salt according to the Williamson ether synthesis yielding the carboxymethyl (CM) polysaccharide derivative. Not only cellulose and starch but also various polysaccharides form different sources are applied as starting materials. Carboxymethyl starch (CMS, as it is usually called) was first prepared in 1918 and was produced commercially in the early 1920s at the IG Farbenindustrie AG in Germany.

PRODUCTION OF PV PANELS (SOLAR PV PANELS)

The generation of electricity from photovoltaic (PV) solar panels is safe and effective. Because PV systems do not burn fossil fuels they do not produce the toxic air or greenhouse gas emissions associated with conventional fossil fuel fired generation technologies. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, few power-generating technologies have as little environmental impact as photovoltaic solar panels. However, as with all energy sources, there are potential environmental, health and safety hazards associated with the full product life cycle of photovoltaics. Recent news accounts have raised public interest and concerns about those potential hazards.2 A substantial body of research has investigated the life cycle impacts of photovoltaics including raw material production, manufacture, use and disposal. While some potentially hazardous materials are utilized in the life cycle of photovoltaic systems, none present a risk different or greater than the risks found routinely in modern society.

TITANIUM DIOXIDE
The year 1992 will mark the start of the third century since the discovery of Titanium, stated to be the ninth most plentiful element in the earths crest. This non-ferrous metal today holds the same position that was held by aluminium at the turn of the 20th century. Metallurgists and engineers have forecasted a very brilliant future for this metal which represents the most important development in the nbon-ferrous industry since the Second World War. A heavy chemical process industry, the Titanium Dioxide industry has recorded a phenomenal growth since its inception nearly threequarters of a century ago in the United States and Norway, mainly because of its exceptional qualities. These include extraordinary whiteness and brightness close to those of the whitest known substance, magnesium oxide, stability against extreme conditions of environment, tenacity against most chemicals, nontoxicity, high refractive index and thus higher opacity and relative ease in application. Because of these superior qualities, that this metal possesses, other popular white pigments like lithopone, white lead, zinc oxide, antimony oxide, etc., have steadily given way to titanium dioxide, also popularly known by its chemical formula TiO2.

COPPER STRIP COILS FROM SCRAPS
Metals other then iron and steel are described as non-ferrous metals. For example, Aluminium, Brass, Bronze, Copper, Lead, Silver, Zinc & other precious metals. Copper is reddish-brown of colour white Brass is golden yellow. On chemical spot tests, copper does not react while red brass with silver nitrate will turn black in the solution and yellow brass will show no reaction. Most brasses & bronzes are heavier than steel. Yellow brass is soft compared with Mn-bronze which is hard, brittle & coarse. Copper is the perfect material for recycling. It is valuable, easy to identify, easy to clean, heavy and can be of much use to foundries, melters, & other non-ferrous industries, as scrap. Copper has many important alloys eg. bronze (contains copper, Tin & Zinc) and brass (which contains copper & zinc only). To discourage thefts, scraps are packed in oil drum & hammered the ends over. Pure copper may include scraps from factories making copper products, usually they reclaim if themselves, but ends of copper tubes used in domestic water systems & other buildings, prices of electrical machineries, wire & power cables etc.

CASHEW NUT PROCESSING

Cashew (Anacardium occidentale L.) a native of Eastern Brazil introduced to India just as other commercial crops like Rubber, Coffee, Tea etc. by the Portuguese nearly five centuries back. The first introduction of cashew in India was made in Goa from where it spread to other parts of the country. In the beginning it was mainly considered as a crop for afforestation and soil binding to check erosions. The nuts, apple and other by products of this crop are of commercial importance. Though its commercial exploitation began from the early 60s, marginal lands and denuded forests were the areas set apart for the plantation development. Due to the absence of high yielding varieties and multiplication techniques, indiscript seeds and seedlings were used for planting purposes. Because of its adaptive ability in wide range of agro climatic conditions it has become a crop of high economy and attained the status of an export oriented commodity bringing considerable foreign exchange to the country.

CEILING FANS
Ceiling fans (technically, paddle fans) are functional and attractive room additions that will add value when you have to sell your home. They can also assist with both heating and cooling your home in the coldest and warmest months of the year, with a switch that reverses the flow of the air as needed. When your heating system is operational, moving the switch up pushes the warm air off the ceiling to warm the whole living space. When the air conditioner is on, moving the switch down forces the cooler air to mix with the warm air at the top of the room. The A/C processes all the air, removing moisture and cooling it as well. Adding ceiling fans in the biggest and most frequently used living spaces in your home requires only a moderate level of DIY skill.

BRICKS FROM STONE DUST

Brick are produced in almost all towns and villages in India, and organised bricks fields are found in the neighborhood of large cities. Refractory bricks, a special class of bricks, are included under refraction. Bricks are made of earth or natural clay fly ash, sand dust which should be sufficiently plastic and should not shrink, crack or warp during drying and burning. Iron oxide in the clay is responsible for the characteristics red colour of Bricks, and excess of it gives them a bluish black colour. The usual size of bricks are 12" x 6" x 22" (old Indian bricks) 10" x 5" x 3" (usual Bengal bricks), 92" x 4 3/4" x 2 3/4" (Bengal P.W.D. Specif), 9" x 4" x 22" (Northern India P.W.D. specif). The width of the brick is about 2" less than half of its length, so that one brick when laid lengthwise will just cover two bricks laid cross wise, with a filling of mortar between them. Hollow bricks are light (about 11 percent lighter than ordinary bricks) and afford better insulation against sound heat and cold. They may be made in any brick factory worked by power and are manufactured in three sizes: 9" x 42" x 3", 9" x 52" x 2 5/8", and 9" x 62" x 3".

RUBBER SHEETS FOR SHOE SOLES

Indian rubber industry is nearly five decades old. There are over 1,400 ubber manufacturing units spread over the country. The total production of rubber goods is estimated at Rs 340/- crores. In a span of over 50 years the Indian rubber Industry has grown from strength to strength. Nearly a decade ago the industry was entirely dependent on imports for its basic raw materials. But now the industry is almost self sufficient except for a very small range of specialty products. The industrys steady progress can be evident from the following facts. Consistent increase in consumption of new rubber which has jumped from 22, 790, tonnes in 1951 is 1,38,200 tonnes in 1972. Considerable increase in number of rubber factories. Steady increase in exports of rubber products crossing the figure of Rs 11.5 crores. The natural rubber production in the country at the end of current year 1973 would be 1.25 lakh times, synthetic rubber 35,000 tonnes and reclained 30,000 tonnes.

DEXTROSE SALINE
Intra venous fluids, in general are used as I.V drips for patients in nursing homes and hospitals suffering from acute dehydration or considerable debilitating conditions. These I.V fluids replanish the body fluids. Though a number of I.V fluids are there, generally three types of I.V fluids are used in hospitals as I.V drips. They are as follows:1. Dextrose injection fluid, 2. Dextrose and sodium chloride injection fluid, When saline is injected intravenously, it compensate the deficiency of sodium ions when dextrose is injected it gives energy due to glucose content of it when dextro-saline is given in combination, it replanishes the dehydration as well as gives energy thereby recouping debility syndrome and also in general take care of malaise. Dextrose (D-glucose, corn sugar, starch sugar, blood sugar, grape sugar) is by for the most abundant sugar in nature and occurs either in the free state (monosaccharide form) or chemically linked with other sugar varieties. In the free state, it occurs in substantial quantities in honey, fruits, and berries. As a polymer of anhydrodextrose units, it occurs in starch, cellulose, and glycogen. Sucrose is a disaccharide of dextrose and fructose. Commercial production of dextrose by hydrolysis of starch yields white crystalline sugars that are either anhydrous (C6H12O6) or hydrated (C6H12O6H2O).

BLOWING AGENTS
A blowing agent may be defined as a compound, organic or inorganic, that releases a gas when heated to a definite minimum temperature. It is infact, the decomposition temperature which determines the usefulness of a blowing agent, many different and diverse materials, have been used for blowing agents, ranging from the domestic product backing powder to materials which can be classed as mild explosives. However in case or rubber under well defined condition, blowing agents liberate gases giving expended closed cell or open cell structure rubber product. The most commonly used inorganic blowing agent in sodium bicarbonate, though ammonium carbonate and bicarbonate are still in use. These liberate CO2 and yield an open hore structure. Ammonium Carbonates are of the earlist blowing agents used for production or sponege rubber and is still used for toilet sponge. Sodium bicarbonate is still quite popular because of its low cost compared to organic blowing agents. It is used in quantities upto 10% a high close of stearic acid is normally used to facility decomposition of the bicarbonate before the curing starts, in the production of open cell sponge rubber.

ALUM
Alum are represented by the general formula R 1/2 SO4, R2"(SO4)3.24.H2O. Where R and Rare respectively monovalent and trivalent radicals. They are usually the double salts of ammonium, potassium or sodium sulphate with aluminium. Chromium or iron sulphate, and are readily prepared y by concentrating and cooling a solution containing molecular proportions of the Component Sulphate. Alum is marketed in various grades. The cheapest grade called alum cake. Potash alum also known as alum alumen. Ferric alumin is alumini sulphate containing iron obtained from the bauxite ore. Potash alum is prepared from its naturally occuring minerals such as alunite, and Ratinite, but in India these do not occur in appreciable quantities. Alum was formerly prepared from alum shales by roasting them in year and leaching it out with water. Alum is now produced in India by crystallizing together equivalent produced in India by Crystallizing together equivalent proportion of potassium sulphate and aluminium sulphate. The solution is concentrated and the crystals are separated out are melted to yield lump alum or recrystalized to obtain large crystals.

ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES AND SPARE PARTS

Most of the parts of our life is spent at home. We start for our regular works from our permanent dwelling place, we get ourselves ready for each and every work of the day at home and we eat, drink, sleep and do allthe variety of works there only. Therefore, every ones prime interest goes to collect things of comforts for his house. Those articles which go into helping our household works are formed domestic articles. These are of various types and for various functions eg. for cooking, serving and others. There are some standard household items which essentially are required for every family big or small, poor or rich. But, certain other domestic items require more than average expenses but more-or-less are unsparable like coolers, fans, air conditioners for keeping the house cool during summer season. Heat convectors, heater etc. are essential for heating the room air when ambient temperature goes down and biting cold weather affects normal living. Similarly water boilers and immersion heating rods, Geysers and water heaters etc are important appliances to get desirably hot water during winter season for bathing.

PVC PIPES & FITTINGS

One hospital bed out of four in the world is occupied by a patient who is ill because of polluted water. Provision of safe and convenient water supply is the single most important activity that could be under taken to improve the health of people living in rural areas of the developing countries - it is the statement of world health organisation. Water makes life possible, and it is difficult to imagine any programme for human development or improvement that does not pre-suppose or require a readily available supply of water. Probably there may be potentially enough water to meet forth coming needs. But frustratingly, it tends to be available in the wrong place, at the wrong time or with the wrong quality, and in one way or another, all societies are served with an adequate and safe water supply. Less than 30% of the worlds population has access to piped water, the rest of the people rely on wells, rivers and other sources. Most of these water sources are open to contamination by pathogenic organism. Where there is no water, there is no life. Where there is contaminated water, there is a short life expactancy and a high incidence of disease and sufferings. Over 70% of Indias rural population does not have access to safe drinking water. Villagers have to trek for miles to get water. It is estimated that at least 24 million people are living at risk in about 34,000 cholera, endemic villeges, and small towns.

SYNTHETIC RED & YELLOW IRON OXIDE

Iron Oxides are extensively used in the preparation of paints. There are two main stains yellow and red, Both these varieties are available in synthetic and natural forms. Yellow oxide of iron is widely used as a retainer in glass paints, undercoats, of iron finds application in paints rubber, plastics, ceramics, paper linoleum and for polishing glass, metals and diamonds, Iron oxides are used in paints for exterior work on account of the low cost and protective value. They are used as primers for structural steel, automobiles bodies, ship bottoms of iron prolong life of the substance by eliminating the dest- ructive effect light on the film. Iron oxide pigments own their yellower tint to feerous oxide and ferric hydroxide while red red dish-brown colour is essentially due to anhydrous ferric oxide Fe203. There are various types of deposits of yellow and red Oxides of iron available in various places in the world mainly they are classified as under.

RUBBER ROLLERS & EBONITE ROLLERS

Rubber is the coagulated juice or latex of various species of Heaves and certain other plants. The climatic conditions prevailing in the equatorial low areas are favourable to growth of rubber trees. Malaysia contributes maximum production of rubber all over the World. India produces adequatic amount of rubber to meet the country needs. Of the many applications of rubber metal bounded assemblies, rubber roller cover a wide field ranging from typewriter to textile industry. A rubber roller is in fact a cylinder of rubber bounded to a metallic core. The rubber cylinder protects the metallic core against chemical attack, and protects the material being handled against damage. Rollers are used for application of liquid to or wiping a liquid off a surface, squeezing liquid out of a substract and sometimes giving a mild abrasion to the material surface.

For example, a body building workshop of small capacity can under take either trucks or buses of standard design or mini buses or delivery vans or similar other vehicles used for commercial transportation of goods & passengers. But, sufficiently big auto-body building factories can under take a range of chassises for constructing and mounting body on them. Auto-body building involves a lot of structural designs, wood & metal working processes, fastening techniques surface protection measures, arranging various accessories and instruments electricals and safety devices at proper places. Such a factory requires to be fully equipped with full-range of wood/metal working machines and tools, treating and testing equipments, high level of productivity and quality oriented team and much more facilities indeed. KITCHENWARES & CATERING EQUIPMENTS (FOR S.S. AND M.S.)

The catering equipments are the roots of any Hotel and the quality of items produced in the equipments depends on proper fabrication and structural material etc. Catering industry, a specialized industry of paramount importance & bridges the gap between the main producer of steel and its consumers. This industry is essentially of a jobbing type and covers a vast range of widely different structural. Attempt may be made to find the broad limits of the industry in terms of the basis processes undertakes, which include cutting, welding and rivetting, primarily, and casting, forging and machining as subsidiary process. Steel fabrication find extensive use in various developmental activities though the range and extent of their utilization may vary from one sector to another. Traditionally the most important fabrications are the general use for all types of residential kitchens factories, offices, shops, schools, hospitals for conventional uses. For hydro electric and irrigation schemes, structuals for sluice gates, operating gate, and pen stock are that types broadly used.

DRY DISTEMPER AND SNOW CEM POWDER

Distempers and snow cem powder as a class belong to water paints. These are the powder mixture of pigment and binder which when dispersed in water gives the required water paint. Distempers are manufactured in a wide range of bright colours and find extensive use as well coatings on cemented surfaces just like white wash. Recently, distempers have replaced white wash and calcimine. This is mainly due to the superior retention powder, durability, and light fastness on exposure to exterior conditions throughout the year. Calcimine is a distemper in whiting as the principal pigment. It is sold in the form of dry powder to be mixed with water by the painter and is intended primarily for the decoration of plastered interior walls. Calcimine represent the latest expensive decorative coating available above the crude level of white wash or lime wash. It makes falt coatings with clear. Soft colour that do not fade and do not turn yellow in subsuced light. Distemper form a cheap, durable and easily applied decoration for internal use on most building material except wood and metal whose moisture & thermal movement are likely to cause flaking. They are eminently suitable for decorating large surfaces of plaster cement products bricks and various forms of wall boards such as plaster board and insulating board, if suitably formulated they may be used externally on cement products or on brick work.

SURGICAL GLOVES FROM LATEX

The gloves are made from latex by dipping method. In the same plant of hand gloves, other products like finger stalls, baloons, etc. can also be manufactured. Deposition of rubber by dipping an article in rubber solution in order to obtain thin walled articles in and old process, toy baloons, gloves for surgical and household use were made by dipping forms in milled rubber solution as cements. A single dip was sufficient for producing very thin articles, but in case of heavy ones the dipping and drying operations had to be repeated several times. The solution uses as of high viscosity, yet it contain only a very small percentage of rubber, consequently the usage of solvent was high and the method of solvent recovery were very inefficient. It was not surprising that when latex become commercially available attempts were made to use it in place of rubber solutions. Dipped goods from latex especially surgical gloves, industrial gloves, finger stalls etc. are finding increasing use formerly almost these articles were importan. However, some large scale units in the country almost monopolished the manufacture and the marketing of these products. Recently much progress has been made in small sector. Especially because technical know how is no longer a problem and all the raw materials are available indignously.

COAL TAR PITCH

Coal tar pitch is a byproduct of turning coal into coke or coal gas. It is a sticky, dark brown or black liquid that resists flowing and has a very strong smell. In most cases, the volume of coal tar pitch used in medicinal preparations is very small in comparison to the amounts produced. As a result, most of the pitch is further processed to remove useful chemicals or is simply burned. Coal Tar Pitch Manufacturing Process. Crude Coal Tar received from by-product coke oven plants is heated to temperatures up to 400oC in specially designed distillation stills. This removes moisture, Naphthalene, Light Creosote Oil and Heavy Creosote Oil from the Coal Tar. The resultant product is called Coal Tar Pitch. ACETIC ACID FROM MOLASSES

Acetic acid is a constituent of vinegar in which it occurs to the extent of 3-5 percent. glacial acetic acid is the pure compound (99.8% min); as distinguished from the usual water solutions known as acetic acid. Vinegar is a dilute acetic acid. It is flammable and has moderate fire risk. It is highly toxic by ingestion and is strong irritant to tissue. The tolerance limit in air is 10 ppm. Large quantities of acetic acid are required for the manufacture of acetate rayon, esters and lacquers and vrnishes. It is also used for food industries. In India, the acid is mostly employed for the coagulation of rubber latex, and for the manufacture of pigments like white lead verdigris, etc. It is also employed in the preparation of acetates and acetic esters, and in the dyeing and printing of textiles. At present, the commercial methods used for the production of acetic acid are: (1) By acetaldehyde conversion method, (2) By Oxidation of n-butone, (3) By methanol conversion method. But, since the last few years, biotechnological process using molasses as the raw material is fastly coming up. This process is divided into 2 major steps, viz. (i) Conversion of molasses into ethanol by fermentation process. (ii) conversion of ethanol into acetic acid by aerobic bacterial oxidation (ie. by air oxidation using certain en\ymes as catalyst).

Thymol C10H14O is a commercially important aroma chemical found in Nature in the essential oils of Thymus vulgarice, ajowan ocimum gratisimum and O viride and in many other oil. Thymol can be isolated from the natural sources by enrichment by fractional distillation or by direct isolation by conventional method of recovery of phenols from essential oil. Thymol is obtained from the volatile oils of Thymus vulgarice linn of Monarda punctuate lini and of trechyrpermum ammi (Linn). Sprague. Thymus vilgaris is a low peranial undershrub 20-30 cm. high, successfully introduced in the Nilgiris at higher elevations. It is extensively cultivated in Germany, France, England, Greece and various other countries, both for searoning and for its volatile oils and in India its cultivation on commercial scale may be tried in the western temperature Himalayas from Kashmire to Kumauna between altitudes of 1500 and 4000 m. The plant grows heat in the hills. The herb has a pungent taste. It is said to possess antiseptic anthelacintic, expectorant carminative direct emmenogogue and sedative properties due to the presence of a volatile oil. A liniment prepared from the shoots is applied in shenmatism and skin troubles.

EXTRACTION OF ESSENTIAL OIL (CARDAMON, JEERA, AJOWAN, GINGER OIL ETC) & PACKING OF GROUND SPICES (EXPORT ORIENTED UNIT)
Spieces are Natures own Production. In the art of cooking these are the magic cinstituents without which all culinary creations would be dull and lifeless. It is only in Indian that one can find all spices ranging from pepper. the king of spices and cardamom the aristocrat among spices, to ginger, turmeric, chillies, coriander, safforn etc. The following paragraphs deal with the most important aspects of all the well known spices in brief. Ajowan (Carum Copticum of carum ajowan , Umbellifere) is grown in India to to someextent in Egypt, Perisa and Afghanistan, india, it is cultivated in about 7,000 tonnes of seeds out of which 48,600 kgs. are exported. ajowan is an herbaceous plant. The seeds contain small quantity of volatile oil and thymol is the major contituent. Ajowan is used both in cooking and medicine. It is used in many Indian savouries-to impart a thyme-like flavour. It is a crude sbstitute for thyme.

TEFLON LINING
Among the nonlining and lining things, however, there is a material which finds this category perfectly that is Teflon. Like a true ascetic, Teflon remains untouched even in the most corrosive environment. Not even aqua-regia, the powerful chemical which can dissolve gold, can affect it.Teflon lining has acquired unique place among materials of industrial importance, by virtue of its remarkable stability and non-adhesive property. What has made Teflon the prince of plastics. It is the C.F (carbon fluorine) bond, a bond formed with Fluorine, the mightiest of all nonmetals. The birth of Teflon came about through an accident the story is a cylinder containing a gas made of fluorine and carbon atoms (tetrafluoroetheylene) was left standing in a place for quite sometime. A little oxygen from the surrounding air leaked in and initiated a process which converted the gas into a semisolid as a resin. When the cylinder weighed as it full but no gas came out, the researchers became curious and cut open the cylinder to find a new substance.

Galvanising is a method of coating steel of iron articles with zinc, the product being known as galvanized steel or iron. Galvanized coating usually resist, for a reasonable time, such ordinary corrosive conditions as fairly pure air, moderately hard domestic waters, sea water and brines. The zinc particularly under atmospheric conditions, after becomes covered with a protective layer or film believed to be a zinchydroxide-carbonate mixture. Zinc is anodic to iron and therefore protects the base metal, where exposed, until the adjacent outer layer of zinc is dissolved. Galvanized coatings are unsuitable where are corroding agent is very acid, as in certain mine waters and industrial solutions, or where the solutions are excussively alkaline of calcium brines with an excess of caustic alkalinity. Galvanized coatings are commercially applied, (a) by dipping the article in molten zinc (b) by electroplating (c) by heating in contact with zinc powder.

CALCINATION OF MAGNESITE
Magnesite is natural magnesium carbonate (MgCo3). The term magnesite is loosely used as a synonym for magnesia as are also the terms caustic calcined magnesitedead burned magnesite and synthetic magnesite. Magnesite is a mineral which may be used for epsum salt and for manufacture of magnesium metal. Magnesite is one of the most widely distributed element in the earths crust and constitutes nearly 2.7% of the same. It is eighty element in order or decorance in the world. It was discovered by Davy in 1808; was first isolated in 1829 by Busy. It was mainly used in flash light powders and pyrotechnics. Magnesium alloys for aircraft were developed and used during world war II. The other extensive use during that period was incendiary bombs. It is lightest metal with widespread industrial applications. It is element of atomic No. 12 of group IIA in the periodic table. Our country is extremely rich in mineral wealth and practically all the minerals except few are available in the country. It is unfortunate that their commercial utilisation and development of industries based on these minerals was quite slow in the past. The present progress in the field is quite satisfactory and this industry has bright future in the years to come.

CONTINUOUS CASTING COPPER WIRE RODS

Copper is an exceedingly important metal. For many centuries, it has played a notable part in the industrial development of civilization and the complete exhaustion of our copper deposits would cause a tremendous readjustment in our economic structure. Its not, however an absolute necessity, as aluminium, silver and the stainles steels could replace it at a price. In these days of research and specialization traditional uses are on the defensive; hard ware is no longer made exclusively of brass, and aluminium is being more widely used in electrical and other fields. An attempt to trace mans use of copper back to its original sources gets out of bounds. Modern a r c h a e o l o g y, w h e r e g e o l o g i s t , anthropologist, and engineer work as a coordinated team with official government support, is only about 75 years old, but it has pushed the historical horizon back some 6000 years. Beyond that twilight zone history becomes a sort of backward prophecy and some students give copper at least another 2000 years.

CHINA CLAY WASHING/ PURIFICATION

China clay owes its name to the fact that originally it was used in china under the name Kaolin; for the production of fine white procelain. China clay or Kaolin is a microcrystalline hydrated silicate of aluminium, approximately Al2O3, 2SiO3, 2H2O, corresponding to 46 percent of silica, 40 percent of alumina and 14 percent of water commercial grades generally contents small amounts of quartz, oxides of iron and titanium, oxides and silicate of calcium and magnesium, potash and soda. This clay is formed as the result fo the decomposition of granite in situ granite is an igenous rock composed of associated crystals of mica, quratz feldspar, the latter consisting essentially of slicates of alumina, with variable proportions of silicates of potash, soda or lime under the prolonged influence of weathering and exposure to water and carbondioxide under great pressure the feldspar crystals are decomposed, the soda or potash being extracted, leaving the hydrated silicate of alumina. This process known as kaolinisation, converts the granite into a friable mass of clay mixed with the under decomposed crystals of quartz and mica, and the quantity of china clay depends on the completeness with which the alkalies, iron and other constituents have been leached out duringg the decomposition.

OLD AGE HOME

There are two types of Old Age Homes in India. One is the Free type which cares for the destitute old people who have no one else to care for them. They are given shelter, food, clothing and medical care. The second type is the Paid home where care is provided for a fee. Nowadays, such Retirement homes have become very popular in India and they are well worth considering. Rehabilitation centre for aged and needy persons is a dire need of the hour. It is voluntary service which is generally render for those, living orphanage life and are generally kept away from the society due to developed modern concept of living standard. These include old age persons, persons whose family members do not like or those old people who want to stay away from family to avoid family disturbances, quarrels, or those people who want to spend their life in isolation. These rehabilitation centre serve their purpose and render services to them at no profit no loss basis. Besides these centres serve the society to reduce the overburden of this families in the busy life. So this concept has been taken into account to serve all over India. The districts in Haryana indulged in the production of guar are Bhiwani, Sirsa, Mahendragarh and Rewari and the districts in Gujarat are Kutch, Banaskantha, Mehsana, Sabarkantha and Ahmadabad. Jodhpur city in Rajasthan is one of the major processing centers of guar gum in India. Guar also known as cluster b ean (Cyamopsis tetragonoloba (L.) Taub) is a drought hardy leguminous crop. Guar is being grown for seed, green fodder, vegetable and green manuring. It is an annual plant, about 4 feet high, vertically, stalked, with large leaves and clusters of pods. Each pod is about 5-8 cm long and has on an average 6-9 small grayish-white pea shaped seeds. The pods are used as a green vegetable or as a cattle feed besides the industrial extraction of guar gum. Guar seed consists of major three portions viz. the Seed coat, the endosperm and the innermost proteinacious portion, the germ. The en dosperm is mechanically separated from seeds which yields 35-42% of gum (galactomannan). The left out portion, i.e., the outer seed coat and the germ together cons titute guar meal.

PAPER RECYCLING (PAPER FROM WASTE PAPER)

The recovery of waste paper is traditional in the paper and paper board manufacturing industry. The importance of utilisation of waste paper in the paper and board industry should not be under estimated. It furnishes about 30 per cent of all the fiberous raw materials consumed in the paper and board mills in the U.S.A. Europe and Japan. The establishment of the local manufacture of paper board in a country after proceeds that of paper pulp. In this case, waste paper is one of the first sources of fiberous material to which resources is taken to reduce the purchase of the pulp. Waste paper in fact, a source of prepared fibre which needs only to be placed in suspention in water in order to obtain a pulp, making possible the formation of sheets of paper or paper board a very simple treatment which is within the ability of artisans. The utilisation of waste paper supplements of a great extent the overall fibre requirements in any conuntry, every possible attempt should be made.

EUGENOL FROM CLOVE AND CLOVE OIL

Clove are aromatic, stimulant and carminative, used for dyspepsia and gastric irritation. Chief value of cloves lies in their essential oil content. Essential oil called clove oil, is extensively used for flavouring food products and fermented beverages. Clove oil is employed as a local analgesic for hypersensitive clentines and curious cavities. It is also used externally as a rebefacient and counter-irritant, and internally as a carminative and antispasmodic. Clove stem and leaf oils are valued mainly for their eugenol content. Stems and dried buds are often distilled gogether to obtain as oil known in trade as vanillin clove oil. Clove oil is the natural occurring essential oil and it contains 95% eugenol and 5% iso-eugenol. Though eugenol can be prepared synthetically from gyaiacol-o-carboxylic acid etc. But it is mostly prepared from essential oils containing eugenol such as clove oil. The characteristic spicy odour of cloves is due to its essential oil which contains 80-95% eugenol. Clove oil is frequently used instead of pure eugenol to give desired spicyness in perfume compositions. The clove oil constituents in eugenol and iso-eugenol both have an odour strongly reminiscent of carnations and therefore, form the basis of carnation type perfumes.

PVC WIRE & CABLE

Electric cables from the essential connecting line between one piece of electrical apparatus or machinery and another, but the variety of uses, conditions of service, and technical methods associated with the manufacture and installation of impregnated paper insulated power cables have resulted in a large number of constructions and protective finishes. Essentially power cables used for the transmission and distribution purposes consist of conductors stranded from plain high conductivity annealed copper wires insulated with oil-impregnated paper tapes. The single or multicore assembly in them enclosed in an impermeable metal sheath, and where necessary depending on installation conditions, the assembly in protected by steel or mourings. In a paper read to the institution of electrical engineers in 1901 M.O. Gorman gave the following desidrata for a perfect cable dielectric. Modern Cable technology is still pursuing the above ideal.

PUTTY AND WATER PROFFING PAINT

Common putty, as used by carpenters, painters, and glaziers, in whiting mixed with linseed oil and other ingredients, to the consistency of dough. Plasters use a fine lime master that is called putty. Jewelers use a tin oxide for polishing, called putty powder or puts powder. In general, fillers & stoppers are paste-like materials, highly pigmented, used to fill surface imperfections (fillers) and to make good gross surface defects prior to painting operations (stoppers). A variety of non-setting materials such as mastics, sealants & putties, which are designed to stay flexible, can also be included in this class. Metal casement putty is generally similar to glazing putty but contain a small amount of fatty acid or sulphonated oil to improve the wetting characteristics and consequently the adhesion to the metal surface. Caulking compounds, putties and same cements have a boiled drying oil, usually combine with resins that act as the binder putty is the thick mixture of finally powdered calcium carbonate (whiting) and acid refined linseed oil which imparts good wetting and grinding characteristics. There are variegated types of putties for wood too. For glazing wood & filling holes and cracks on the surface, of timber or metal, a stiff paste of linseed oil and whiting is used. This composition is thetraditional putty.

WETTABLE SULPHUR
The earliest fungicides were inorganic materials like sulphur, lime-sulphur, copper, and mercury compounds. Elemental sulphur has been recognized as fungicidal for at least 170 years. Hence, in 1803, the Royal Gardener Forsyth recommended the use of a sulphur spray against mildew on fruit trees. In the nineteenth century sulphur was increasingly employed against powdery mildew on fruit and later for control of powdery mildew on grapes. It may be applied as dusts or sprays, and the more finely divided the sulphur, the more effective is the formulation against the disease. Ingeneral, wettable powders are manufactured for large number of pesticides among the significant over being Aldrin, (40%, 50%), Malathion (25%, 40%, 50%), Vindane (13%, 20%), etc. other pesticides which are formulated in water dispersible powders are, sulphur, endosulphan, zineb, etc. Like all dust powder preparation it is desirable to have a water-dispersible powder with good flowability. Flowability is influenced by the flawability of the carrier powder and the concentration of the toxicant. One of the most important desirable property of the water dispersible powders in wettability. It is primarily influenced by the type and concentration of the toxicant as well asthe wetting agent used. Cost Estimation Plant Capacity 1000 KGS/Day Land & Building (Area 500 sq.mt.) FERRO MANGANESE/SILICO MANGANESE BY ELECTRIC FURNACE PROCESS

The largest tonnage manganese addition alloy used in the steel industry is high carbon Ferro Manganese commonly known as standard ferro manganese of the average overall usage of 7.5kg. mn/t steel 75% is supplied as the high carbon alloy. Until recently most high carbon Ferro Manganese used by the steel industry was produced in a blast furnace process similar to the production of iron the balance was produced in electric furnaces. To take up the shortfall and satisfy the increased demand ferro manganese resulting from the large increase in production of steel many new large high carbon ferro manganese electric furnaces have been built ranging from 20 to 40 mw in size. Ferro Manganese encompasses a wide horizon of application in various fields viz. in the manufacture of tool steels structural steel special steels having high manganese content as well as alloying element in metallurgical ioerations and a hostful of other uses. Silico Manganese is an alloy of manganese and iron that contains 18.25% silicon and is available in various grades. Their prominience attributes to their usage for springs and high - strength structural steel, etc.

BATTERY PLATES
Plates are the components/parts of a storage battery cell and lead storage plats are divided broadly into types designated by the names of their respective makers the formed and pasted types. In the formed type the active material consists of a comparatively thin layer superficially formed by an electro chemical process from the metalic lead of the supporting grid. To obtain the desired capacity a highly developed grid surface is essential. In the paste type the active material is applied to the supporting grid in the form of a paste consisting of lead powder mixed with a liquid (water dilute sulphuric acid or other acqueous solution) to a putty like consistency followed by setting, drying and forming operations. Formed type positive plates have been developed three types: Those in which the developed surface is produced by cutting, spinning or rolling upstudying fines or leaves on the face of a pure lead bank. Those in which the surface has obtained by casting pure lead in the desired form of grid providing thin closelly spaced vertically disposed fine interconnecting comparatively heavy horizontal ribs. Those in which the pure lead base in the form of resettes of lead ribbon corrugated cross wire X rolled into spirals and inserted by heavy pressure into circular openings. In a cost lead anitmony alloy gird.

ROTARY AIR LOCKS, SCREW CONVEYOR, MOTORIZED/ PNEUMATIC DAMPER, FLAP VALVES, AIR SLIDES REQUIRED IN CEMENT PLANTS AND THERMAL POWER PLANT
Screw conveyors are one of the bulk-material transporting devices capable of handling a great variety of materials, which have relatively good flow ability. Flow ability denotes the degree of freedom of individual material particles to move past each other. This characteristic is important in case of screw operation as the screw helix, mounted on a central pipe or shaft, rotates within a fixed trough or tube, pushes the material along the bottom and sides, shearing the material in the radial clearance between the helix and the trough and causing the material to tumble upon itself as the moving face of the helical flight tends to lift the material Screw conveyors may be operated horizontally, or an incline or vertically frequently inclined screw conveyors simplify the conveying system because they can do in one conveyor assembly what otherwise would require a more elaborate combination of horizontal and vertical units.

MAGNESIUM CARBONATE, MAGNESIUM METAL & CALCIUM CARBONATE FROM DOLOMITE

Magnesium does not occur free in nature but its compounds are widely distributed. Its important minerals are Magnesite Mg Co3; Dolomite Mg Co3. CaCo3; Carnallite, Kcl.Mg Cl2 6H2o Asbestos, Ca Mg3(SiO3)4. Magnesium carbonate occurs in nature as magnesite and in another form in association with calcium carbonate as dolomite. The natural product as magnesite is too impure for direct use in industry. Technical carbonate is prepared from magnesite or dolomite by calcining in rotary kilns, slaking the calcine and then carbonates is carried out (with scrubbed flue gases) at as low a temperature as possible and under a pressure of 75 P.S.I. The resulting mixture contains magnesium bicarbonate in solution and calcium carbonate and other impurities in suspension. The solution is separated, filtered and treated with live steam to separate the basic carbonate since the solubility of calcium carbonate is very low under the conditions employed.
