Associated Student Government University of Arkansas ASG Senate Bill No. 15 Authors: Senator Roxanne Hazelwood, Chair of the Senate Mike Norton Sponsors: Senator Roxanne Hazelwood, Chair of the Senate Mike Norton The Legislative Requirement Act of 2013 Whereas, Writing legislation is an integral part of representing the student body on the ASG Senate; and Writing in teams increases the knowledge pool and overall quality of legislation; and Very few pieces of legislation were written in teams last fall; then Title II Legislative Code, Section 3 Senator Expectations of the ASG code shall be amended to state the following: Section 3 Senator Expectations A. Senators shall write one (1) piece of legislation per semester in the form of either a bill or a resolution (denoted as author), which must be voted on by the ASG Senate within the same semester it was introduced. B. No more than two (2) Senators may count a piece of legislation towards fulfilling their legislative requirement and both Senators must be involved in the researching, writing, and follow-up components of the legislation, to be verified by the Chair of the Senate. C. Failure to comply with the preceding subsections A and B for every semester the Senator holds office will result in the removal of the Senator from the Senate roll. Official Use Only
