Titanic Summary 1/27/11 Our ethical issue was about the Titanic and the ethical issues that

presented themselves when the ship sank on April, 15 1915. The ship was on its first voyage containing passengers for the luxury cruise for some and a trip between the two continents for others. What the engineers didnt know was that the ship had high ductile-brittle transition temperature making it unsuitable in extremely cold waters. On the night of April 14, the ship struck an iceberg off the coast of Greenland and it punctured a hole in the bow of the ship beyond repair. Approximately two hours and forty minutes later on April 15 the ship sank killing 1,500 people. This was due to the partly because the ship sank, but as well as there wasnt an adequate number of life jackets or lifeboats to hold all people on the ship. This is a major miscalculation on the engineers part, or of someones choice to skimp on safety protocol. This is the ethical issue at hand, the safety and welfare of the passengers and crew was not held paramount and the conduct deceived the public. The Titanic had major problems from the beginning and the ships downfall was inevitably doomed in this case.
