By Elton Camp Crude or obscene words litter many writes As if admiration that somehow excites Maybe its necessary if describing crooks But often needless in poems and books As if relevancy their use somehow adds The writer, his work with them pads The same is true of some folks speech Think what youre saying, I beseech For the words used in the things you say From its legitimacy may take away President Nixon received deserved scorn On hearing tapes laced with filth and porn So before the readers toleration is exceeded Think if those vile words are really needed
