January 29, 2013 Federal Bureau of Investigations, Oklahoma City Division 3301 West Memorial Road Oklahoma City, OK 73134 RE: Mr. Saadiq Longs Upcoming Travel to Qatar [VIA FAX: (405) 290-3885] Dear Special Agent in Charge Finch:
My name is Gadeir Abbas, and I am an attorney at the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) representing Mr. Saadiq Long. As you may be aware, due to his placement on the No Fly List, Mr. Long had previously been prevented from boarding a flight from Doha, Qatar to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma back in November of 2012. He has since been able to fly to Oklahoma where he is currently staying with his ailing mother. I write to inform you that Mr. Long has purchased a ticket to Doha, Qatar that leaves from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on February 6, 2013. His itinerary begins on Delta Flight 3863 to Atlanta, Georgia, continues on Delta Flight 604 to Amsterdam on February 7, 2013, and concludes with KLM Flight 441 from Amsterdam to Doha also on February 7, 2013. In light of his past travel difficulties, Mr. Long requests that he be accorded the same right given to millions of American citizen travelers every day: the right to board a plane. Preventing Mr. Long from flying to Doha, Qatar would be a serious, actionable violation of his rights and would stop him from reuniting with his wife and children who reside there. America is made no safer by prohibiting Mr. Long from boarding his flight on February 6, 2013. The reason for Mr. Longs return to Qatar is because that is where his wife and children reside. Mr. Longs family relies on him to provide them with the financial support his job there affords. Keeping Mr. Long from his family will not only deprive his wife and children of their husband and father but also of the means by which they sustain themselves. It is Mr. Longs sincere hope that, by informing the FBI in advance of his departure from the US, he will avoid the travel difficulties that have caused his family so much hardship already.

Sincerely, __/s/_________________ Gadeir Abbas, Esq. Attorney for Mr. Long
