THE LIWANAG PROJECT:
The objective is to show the artworks to everyone from all works of life by bringing it to different venues (galleries, offices, schools, hospitals, home for the elderly, special children, et. al.) Any venue open where it can help bring "liwanag" or light which are realizations in life or enlightenment to appease the heart and more importantly bring peace of mind / joy / serenity / calmness / change of heart / truth / beauty / love / inspiration / hope / strength / smiles to others.
The purpose of this is to share my "light" to the widest range of people possible in the hope of inspiring them to be creative themselves, connect and interact with the whole of creation's perfection in imperfections and bring out each one's originality and share it to others as well. Hopefully this will be a positive influence and make people open to the possibilities they can achieve.
September 2011 was my first solo show at Kanlungan ng Sining in Luneta and marked Liwanag's sign to continue its calling. On the day the storm surge at Manila Bay occurred, Rizal park was flooded. Worried that Liwanag might be swimming in a pool of mud and cracked glass frames, "Liwanag ng Pag-ibig" series sent me a vague vision/feeling that they were playing and actually enjoying, as if dancing with the winds. A friend checked early the next morning and texted me: "Himala! Safe silang lahat!" (It's a miracle, they are all safe!).
We could not believe what happened. I spontaneously finished "Liwanag ng Himala" (Light of Miracle).
The "Himala" series consists of "Liwanag ng Himala" (Light of Miracle), "Aura ng Himala" (Aura of Miracle), "Apoy ng Himala" (Fire of Miracle). All were completed in the latter part of 2011. This was included in the tour and all 3 were exhibited in January & February 2012 in two exhibit dedication for healing/recovery.
If "Liwanag" (Light) can perform miracles (it might not be able to separate the red sea but like love, it can move mountains), I intend to share these little miracles to anyone ready to accept it.
I hope to share my "Liwanag" to all of you. :)
