Bubur Lambuk by Silambam Club Members On behalf of the Ramadhan month, people all over in Malaysia organizing fast

breaking programmes to enjoy the moment. One of the favourite dish among Muslims is the Bubur Lambuk. recently. Students from Ulu Tiram Secondary School Silambam Club also participated in this event. This programme is held under the project of 1 Malaysia. What made the event unique was that the Rakan Muda members who were non-Muslims joined the Muslim members to make this Ramadan event a success., Mr.Gunaraj said that he felt honoured to be able to take part in the programme. Md Jais Sarday, the Johor district sports community member also participated together with the Rakan Muda Team. Ulu Tiram secondary school silambamstudents gained a lot of experience and found interest in making the delicious Bubur Lambuk. Indian Martial Art ( Silambam) by Hemalatha Gunalan (SMK Ulu Tiram) Silambam is known as a Dravidian martial art from Tamil Nadu, India. However Silambam is widely practiced in countries like Malaysia and Singapore. Moreover it is an important part of Indian culture which is being highlighted recently. I have been learning Silambam since 2011 when I became a proud member of SMK Ulu Tiram Silambam Club. This club was created in our school in 2011. Since then, there has been a steady increase in the number of students who have joined this club. Our Silambam class is held on every Friday after school by our strict master, Mr. Anbalahan Kuppusamy. The SMK Ulu Tiram Silambam club is very active. We have been actively involved in numerous activities in and outside our school. My favorite activity would be Rakan Muda Bubur Lambuk 2012 programme. About 400 Rakan Muda members from Johor Baru and Kulaijaya were involved in this programme which was held at the Youth and Sports Complex in Johor Baru. I had the opportunity to learn about making Bubur Lambuk which smelt great. For those who wonder about Bubur Lambuk, it is one of the favorite dishes among Muslims during fasting month. Other than that, we also performed during the school sports day. We received thunderous applause from other students and teachers.
