Tragic tears drenched wrinkled palms Where lines of labour have been cut Silently yet fervently begging earth for alms The wolf sang The man sprang Somewhere along the scorched veins of a river Gouges in the soil gradually filled with blood Moonlight touched the shore in a slim sliver Too meager, hope departed in a flood The wolf cried The man felt pride Somewhere upon the gaping cracks of the ground Closed fists bloodied dusty sinews with might Yet from the ever barren land came no sound Only painful gasps shattered the dead of the night

The wolf wept The man slept Somewhere in the tall grasses of the Savanah Moans and broken breaths disrupted the calm Life seeped furtively from the agonizing fauna Innocent eyes praying with a last Psalm The wolf died The man tried Somewhere in the rotting vestiges of a conscience A soul was now faced with a threat Try as it might to justify his science The man, for all his worth, could now only regret
