Exhibition Co-ordinator 1 day per week or equivalent, start asap for 5 week duration 200 bursary fee The

University of Birminghams Artists in Residence Sarah Taylor Silverwood and Bobby Nixon are holding an exhibition from 18th-31st March 2013. The exhibition is titled Through Great Efforts to High Things which comes from the Universitys motto Per Ardua Ad Alta. It will be held in a shop unit in the city centre. The exhibition is part of a University-wide Arts and Science Festival We are delighted to offer this exciting opportunity to be Exhibitions Co-ordinator. Based at the artists studio on campus, you will work alongside the artists and curatorial team to help co-ordinate the show. This will include: - organising framing - transport - venue liaison and logistics - installation - insurances - marketing and PR - admin - events - responsibility for a team of volunteers. Essential Skills The successful candidate must; Have a passion for contemporary art Be self-motivated with excellent organisational skills and able to work under pressure Have excellent interpersonal skills and confidence in dealing with the public, volunteers, press and artists alike Be a great communicator- spoken and written Have experience of office administration and software including Word and Excel Have a creative and flexible approach to the role Desirable Skills Have some curatorial experience or experience of working in a contemporary gallery Experience of festivals or event co-ordination A background in the arts and/or a relevant arts degree How do I apply?
