2013 ASBCC Legislative Agenda

We support efforts to repay the $437 million transferred from the Alabama Trust Fund to the General Fund budget along with some level of interest to recapture at least some of the interest monies lost with the transfer of funds. We support efforts to present ballot measures in plain easily understood language for all Alabama citizens. We support efforts to ensure high school students across the state have access to updated technology and equipment. We support legislation that would require state agencies to prepare an economic impact analysis prior to the adoption of any proposed regulation that could have an adverse impact on small businesses. We support efforts to ensure the State of Alabama applies benchmarked best practices in procurement to improve supplier diversity on state contracts. We support efforts to foster an entrepreneurial culture throughout the state with emphasis on boosting economic development in underserved areas.
