Dramatic elements in the lazarice ritual

Summary
The paper discusses the presence of theater elements in a spring ritual practice,
especially in processions around the Lazars Saturday. By analysing all the segments of
the lazarica ceremony, based on the criteria which oral teatrology uses in highlighting and
labelling folk theater, we have come to conclusion that the ritual in all phases represents a
complete dramatic performance.
