ARIAL VIEW OF NARESHWAR

A Place located at South East of Gujarat state. A Place where amalgamation of spirituality and religion is there. A place from where the holy river Narmada flows. A place where Snake and peacock play together. A place where one of the great saints of India P.P.Shri Rang Aavadhoot Maharaj came and spreaded it with full of Holy powers. It is a place where one gets peace of mind.

NARESHWAR

A holy place declared by Govt. Of Gujarat Nareshwar, today is a heavenly place with lush green garden and the grove which provide with a peaceful environment for the visitors . The temples and other places of worship spotted here are said to shower bliss upon the visitors. Various sacred places are liberally utilized by the pious visitors for their spiritual undertakings and rituals. Visitors coming from near and far off places are given adequate shelter at Nareshwar, irrespective of their race, creed, sex etc.. Free boarding is also available throughout the year for the visitors. Apart from the number of rooms built (some of which are donation-based) for the visitors in Nareshwar, some are specifically reserved for sanyasins, saints and the like. The age-old temple of Lord Shiv is just near the kitchen and the boarding house.

Rang-mandir is the main attraction of Nareshwar. The imposing statue of Shree Rang Avadhoot in immaculate white marble, installed in Rang-mandir is a unique piece of art. The garden around Shanti-Nikunj is simply spectacular and serves as a perfect place to unwind.

Discourses on religious and cultural topics by eminent scholars are also held at this place. Being a place of sheer spiritualism and goodness, the musical programme is also arranged here wherein various hymns are sung in groups. The place is well equipped with the vast collection of books with subjects dealing with Godliness and eternity; a feast for the aspirants in the field of spiritualism. The cleanliness of Nareshwar is commendable. The prohibition to tune in radio, transistors etc. helps in maintaining peace. By this very rule, Nareshwar has become very much conducive to the aspirants for peace and bliss. The ever-dutiful staff stationed at Nareshwar does not allow anyone to mar the sanctity of the place in any way. Though Nareshwar is visited daily by different kinds of visitors, from the tiny tots of kindergarten to the renowned saints and seers, it may not be mistaken that the place is only meant for tourists and trippers. After all Nareshwar is a holy place in its entire splendor!

HISTORY OF NARESHWAR
The name Nareshwar is because years ago a Brahmin named Naropant got a dream that at this place there is a Shivaling under the soil.He dug the soil and found out the Shivalingwhich was already with jaladhari which was named as Nareshwar Mahadev and from than the name of the place become NARESHWAR.

It is mentioned in Puranas that at this place Lord Ganesh did penance in front of the Shivalingnamed as KAPARDISHWAR MAHADEV which Naropanth found after many years and named as NARESHWAR MAHADEV.

Pujya Shree Rang Avadhoot Maharaj (Panduranga Vitthala Valame) or well known as Pujya Bapji - descent on November, 21, 1898, Kartika Sukla 9, V.S. 1955 - Birth place, Godhra, Gujarat, India. With bright student careerIndian Independence movement. Snataka (Graduate) - served for a short period as a teacher - participate joined d actively in social and political activities - left all these and went to Nareshwar, Gujarat, India in the year 1925 on the bank of the Holy River Narmada for penance and realised the ultimate truth to live in tune with Infinity.

Pujya Bapji stayed with holy mother, Rukmamba, guided many on spiritual path, wrote many works, inspired many for social and religious activities, and removed miseries of all types, such as physical, mental, spiritual. He did these by his spiritual powers. (Duva-Benediction). He heavily stressed upon Indian culture, and believed in practice. He did not accept any gift or money.

Rangavadhoot Maharaj was a one of the greatest saints of India. He also participated in the freedom struggle with Gandhiji. He kept himself updated with all the things happening around the globe. He use to do intelligent debate on any topic with devotees. He always obeyed his mother and said his mother is Supreme Court for him. He was known as Bapji in his devotees.

Narmada Parikrama
Pujya Bapji did do Narmada Parikrama(taking a round of river Narmada). There he had many experiences, one of them is: He saw a plate with butter, chappati and jeggery but he did not take it and the butter disappeared from plate. He ate it. That was the meal provided from Narmada mata.

He wrote many shlokas and Bhajans. A book named Avadhooti Anand is published containing all the Bhajans written by him. He wrote Shri Gurulilamrut which contains the preachings and Leelas of lord Dattatreya.This is to be read. He wrote Dattabavani which also contains Dattaleelaand it is to be sung. He has written many more literature.

He wrote Girvanbhashapravesh A book on sanskrit grammar. He wote Rangrhadyam which contains stotras.

Pujya Bapji left the world bodily on November, 19, 1968 (Kartika Krsna 30) at Haradvara, Uttarakhand, India on the bank of the Holy River Ganges. The body was brought to Nareshwar and cremated on November, 21, 1968.

Friendly Persons to P.P.Shri Rang Avadhoot Maharaj


Modi Kaka was most closest person to Pujya Bapji.Bapji took many friendly suggestion from Modi Kaka. Shivprasad Joshi was the first Sarva Dharma Karma Acharya of Nareshwar.Bapji took many religious suggestions from him. Suman kaka,Dhiru kaka,Devdatta kaka and many more were the people guided by bapji in various fields such as singing, writing and dictating verses etc.

Govindkaka was also amongst this list.

Mulifoi was also very close to bapji and bapji considered her as his sister. Ratanlalkaka was also very close. Chunilalkaka had a close relation with bapji of writing letters. Ambalal Vyas was one of the closest.

Nandlalkaka also had relation of writing letters.

NARESHWAR TODAY
It is run by Avadhoot Nivas Trust. It provides Mahaprasad and stay for all the devotees. People come from various parts of India and some foreigners come for Darshan of Lord Rang Avadhoot. It is progressing speedily now a days. Although these changes have taken place the peace of the place has not been destroyed.

Today the Avadhoot Nivas Trust is also working for social welfare. Nareshwar organises Samuh Janoi program. The poor children are helped to study. Many books of Dattatrey, Swami Maharaj and all the lords of Datta parampara are printed by Avadhoot Sahitya prakashan trust. Nareshwar No Naad is a magazine (Monthly) by Nareshwar which gives information of all the programmes held in every part of Gujarat related with Dattatrey, Swami Maharaj or bapji. It also includes articles which give brief info on any religious topic.

Nearest city:Vadodara. Nearest airport:Vadodara airport (BDQ). Nearest railway station (narrowgauge):Nareshwar road. Nearest Railway station (broadgauge):Vadodara railway station (BRC). Bus transport: Two or three buses a day from Vadodara and many buses from Karjan. By car:54 kms from Vadodara via Ganpatpura.
