Application of Industrial Engineering 4th Year Project Production Scheduling Optimization Using Six Sigma techniques Introduction The

Industrial Engineering project includes a process that optimizes production scheduling, using six sigma and production cheduling techniques. The system is composed of the following fo r main components. 1. Production database. This database is the heart of the system, since it includes all the production data as well as the interface to the supply chain , since all the required orders reside and are initialized from this database. 2. IGrafix process module. In this stage the Engineer is required to supply the software with all the information related to the production process and its sequence of execution and related information on time and cost s well as details on the shift analysis. 3. Minitab Integration. At this stage minitab can be integrated with Igrafx to supply regression analysis as well as design of experiment. Thus can achieve optimal conditions of the cost and time analysis previously built into the Igrafx manually. 4. Production scheduling. This is the final step which will execute a production scheduling technique such as cellular manufacturing, make span analysis etc. This information is then updated to the Production database and sent to the shop floor for production operation. Notice: The student can replace the Igrafx in step 2 with the ystal ball software with the aid of minitab.
