President The president is responsible for the overall running of the society, and coordin ates the efforts

of all committee members towards the functioning of AstroSoc. Treasurer The treasurer has control over the society's finances, and keeps an overview of income and expenditure throughout the year. In case the committee decides to see k out a sponsorship, the treasurer represents AstroSoc to the potential sponsor. Secretary The secretary runs committee meetings alongside the president, helps to book the appropriate rooms or facilities for our events, and manages the AstroSoc mailin g list. Publicity Officer (x2) The publicity officers ensure that AstroSoc and its activities are widely advert ised to the Imperial community. Their job includes running the society's Faceboo k page and Twitter feed, as well as creating posters and flyers. Webmaster The Webmaster's job is to maintain and update AstroSoc's main website. Equipment Officer If you are comfortable with using telescopes and binoculars, this is the job for you! The equipment officer is responsible for maintaining AstroSoc's store of o ptical equipment and for teaching beginners at observations. Speakers Liaison The Speakers Liaison's job is to organise AstroSoc's guest lectures - this means that you would write invitations to potential speakers, and organise our series of lectures. By no means should you think that your job only consists of what we have written above! The committee runs AstroSoc as a whole, and so there is much teamwork an d everybody generally helps each other out. Being on AstroSoc's committee is a l ot of fun and an excellent way to get directly involved with astronomy and starg azing at Imperial.
