Evangelism for today

Josh Harpole We must start with who God is, for without a proper understanding of who He is, we and also the ones we share with could completely miss the Gospel and how good this good news really is for sinners. *God is Holy In Isaiah 6 we see the great prophet had a vision of the LORD, YHWH. He saw the LORD high and lifted up, the train of His robe filled the temple, and above him were the Seraphim each had six wings; with two they covered their face, with two they covered their feet and with two they flew. And one called to the other: Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of host; the whole earth is full of His glory! The foundations of the temple shook when the LORD spoke, and the whole temple was filled with smoke. (The root meanings of holiness, is separate or cut off, and in Hebrew language when you are making an emphasis on something, you repeat it. God is continually holy, holy, holy or separate, separate, separate there is no one like The LORD in any way.) Isaiahs response to seeing this was: Woe is me for I am ruined (or unraveled), I am a man of unclean lips and I dwell among a people with unclean lips: My eyes have seen the King, the LORD of Host. Fear gripped the great prophet as he had a greater revelation of who he really was as he stood before the great I Am and the Maker of all things. We must have a proper understanding of who God is. We must fear Him or we will be without understanding, for The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge... Proverbs 1:7 Habakkuk 1:13 Your eyes are too pure to look on evil, and You cannot look on wickedness with favor. God is so Holy, He will not look upon sin with Grace or favor! Isaiah 59:2 But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear. Our personal sins have made a separation from us and God, for He will not look on us with favor of any kind. *God is just Isaiah 5:16 But the Lord of host will be exalted in judgment, and the Holy God will show himself Holy in righteousness. He is righteous in all his judgment, and He will by no means clear the guilty. (Exodus 34:7) Psalms 7:11-12 God is a righteous judge, and a God who has indignation every day. If a man does not repent, He will sharpen His sword and; He has bent His bow and made it ready. *All men are under sin by breaking the Law

Galatians 3:10 For all who rely on the works of the Law are under a curse; for it is written, Cursed is every man who does not abide by all the things written in the Law, and to do them. Lets see how well you preform the Law of God? The first commandment tells us, You should have no other Gods besides Him. 2 You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that are on the earth beneath, or under the water. You shall not bow down to them or serve them (this includes idolizing the saints of old), for your God is a jealous God 3 You shall not use the Lords name in vain 4 Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy. 5 Honor your father and mother. 6 You shall not murder. (Matthew 5:22 Jesus says, But I say to you, whoever is angry with his brother is liable to the same judgment) 7 You shall not commit adultery. (Matthew 5:28 Jesus says, But I say to you, everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her in his heart has already committed adultery.) 8 You shall not steal 9 You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. 10 You shall not covet your neighbors house (His wife, possessions or anything he has that you want.) James 2:10 tells us For whoever keeps the whole law yet fails in one point is guilty of breaking all the law. ~Our law breaking puts us under the curse of the Law~ Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God Isaiah 64:6 For all of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like filthy garments Our unrighteous works of sin still stand against us, even if we do good to try to make up for it. Ezekiel 18:4 the soul that sins shall die. *Our dilemma of sinning against this just God

Proverbs 17:15 He who justifies the wicked and he who condemns the righteous are both an abomination to the LORD. God will justify the wicked and be an abomination to Himself. Justice will be served. Genesis 18:25 shall not the judge of all the earth do right. *God in His Holiness, Wrath filled, Justice solves our problem by His Love 1 John 4:8-10 Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. In this love of God was manifest among us, that God sent His only Son into the world, so that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be our propitiation for our sins. His plan for redeeming sinners was to be an overflow out of His own love. We did not love Him, He loved us and paid for our sins by sending His only Son to take our punishment in our place. *The Savior Jesus Romans 3:23-26 For all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God, being justified as a gift by his grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus; whom God put forth as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show Gods righteousness, because in His divine forbearance he passed over former sins. It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he may be the just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus. He is Just to forgive us because His wrath has been full absorbed for all how believe by faith and repentance. Hebrews 10:14-18 For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified. And the Holy Spirit bears witness to us; for after saying, this is my covenant that I will make with them after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my laws on their hearts and write them on their minds, and then He adds I will remember their sins and lawless deeds no more. For where there is forgiveness of sins there is no longer any offer for sins. (we need to offer nothing to God to pay for our sins, because the offering of sacrifice has already been paid in the death of His Son on the cross. ~ It is finished!!!~ *His resurrection life Romans 4:25 Jesuswho was delivered over because of our transgressions, and was raised because of our Justification. If He was raised, your sins are gone! 1Peter 1:3-5 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to His great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by Gods power are being guarded through faith for salvation ready to

be revealed in the last time. By Gods mercy, He causes us to be born again by faith, to a hope that lives in us by His resurrection power. *Our response to His death and resurrection for us ~We are called in many places in the Bible to Repent of our sins and believe; or have faith in this Good news preached to us today.~ We are called to repent before God like David in Psalms 51:3-4 For I know my transgressions and my sins is ever before me. Against you, and you alone, I have sinned and done evil in your sight, so that you are justified when you speak and blameless when you judge. Luke 13:3 No I tell you: unless you repent you will all likewise perish. ~True Repentance leads to true sorrow, shame and hatred of its own personal evil.~ Romans 7:24 O, wretched man that I am! Who will set me free from this body of death? 2Corinthians 7: 10 For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death. *Faith Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things unseen. Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God not as a result of works, so that no man may boast. (Grace and faith are the greatest gift to us from God.) ~Faith in a man is not dependent on anything himself, including his faith, it is simply a soul falling upon the saviors ability to save him, for he cannot save himself in any way~ 2 Corinthians 1:10 On Him we place our hope, that He will deliver us again. *The End ~For death and just judgment comes for all of us~ Hebrews 9:27 it is appointed once for a man to die, then comes judgment. Hebrews 10:26-27 For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful expectation of judgment, and the fury of fire that will consume the adversary. If you still stand opposed to this good news, you are the adversary.

Revelation 21:8 But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters and all liars, their part is in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death. The second death never ends. Our only hope for salvation is in Jesus Christ alone! He died for our sins according to the scriptures, was buried, and on the third day rose from the grave according to the scriptures! Corinthians 15:3 Run to Jesus while you have a chance, for the day is coming soon, that the days of grace will be over. On that final day you stand naked before the Perfect One and your life will be judged according to all you have done and not done. You will be judged to see if you are perfect and holy before God. If you stand on your own merit with all the good and all the bad, you will stand condemned by your sins, and justice demands that you will pay for it forever. But if you are found in Christ and are perfect by His righteousness for you, you will be brought into the kingdom of the righteous with your Savior and God and if not you will be cast out into the outer darkness, where there will be gnashing of teeth and eternal torment. Come to Jesus and be saved!! For He is the bread of life, for He is the way the truth and the life, no one comes to the father but through Him. While will you perish friend, there has been a sacrifice made for you sinner! Take up your cross today and die to yourself and find life for the first time. For unless one is born again he will by no means enter the kingdom of God. Cry out for forgiveness in faith and see if possible your sins may be forgiven of you. Today, do not harden you hearts as many have in the days of old, why will you toil for bread that perishes when the bread of eternal life is calling to you to come and eat without paying. Why will put your treasures into a bag with holes in it. Today is the day of salvation, today while you still have a chance come to Christ, for His burden is easy and His yoke is light. For a bruised reed He will not crush and a smoldering wick he will not put out, he is bring the good news to the poor, are you poor in spirit? He binds up the broken hearted, and sets the captives free, He opens the eyes of the blind and pours His spirit out on all who come to Him. He is a kind master who calls to you. Come, come now and be saved! Drink and you will never thirst again, eat and you will never hunger again. Do you think you are too sinful? Jesus is a friend of sinners; in fact he desires to give you mercy. You who are lame and cannot walk in righteousness, run to Christ the righteous. You, who are blind, come to the light of the world and see!! Oh deaf man, hear your savior calling and follow Him. For all who has ears, hear and all who have eyes see and all who can run, run to Christ! Jesus can heal you with a touch. Do you believe He can? Then run to Him, dont wait one more second, run to Jesus!!
