How to beat Tellabs

1. Tellabs use a distributed architecture, lack of 1+1 cross-protection, poor reliability.
2Tellabs case-shaped equipment is lack of expansion slots, flexibility is poor, does not meet complex technology and various scenes of the Last Mile requirements. 3Tellabs8600 series s maximum switch fabric capacity is only 42G, and the equipment should support 160G switch fabric capacity at POC1 . 4Tellabs8600 series cant support 10GE interface at POC1 position 5 Tellabs box solution does not support built-in microwave , lead to increased investment, and inconvenient O&M. 6Tellabss cell site equipment only support 16 E1 E1 port number cant meet the requirement. 7 Tellabs cant support E1 TPS function, poor reliability. 8Tellabs cant support HQOS. 9Tellabs cant support ML-PPP for uplink. 10 Processing capacity of service slot is only 3.5G not all GE interfaces can support Wire-speed forward.

Bouygues want to Re-plan Base station Spectrum. 2G will be swapped to 3G and the new Base station will use IP technology. 93% of 2G network use Nortel. Its bankruptcy brings risk on spare park and maintenance. Date BW increased several times every year, especially the new terminal IPhone brings the network to IP date-time.

Benefits for Bouygues

Encapsulation efficiency of POS is higher than ChSTM-1. BW compress technology can save the Leased WDM fee. IP MW embedded reduce TCO.
