Associated Student Government University of Arkansas ASG Senate Resolution No. 53 Authors: Senator Wil Cheatham, Aaron Coy Moulton Sponsors: Senator Mark Cameron, Senator Sanket Desai, Senator Morgan Farmer, Senator Madeleine Forrest, Senator Alex Marino, Senator Joe Kieklak, Senator Hayley Noga A Resolution for a Varied ROTC Parking Plan Whereas, The students who serve in the Army Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) are an invaluable part of the student body at the University of Arkansas and represent each college; and The students of the Army ROTC are required to attend physical fitness and training programs at the Army ROTC Building from 5-7 a.m., though some students meet with ROTC staff after their morning physical fitness and training programs; and The students of the Army ROTC are expected to park their vehicles in a Green Lot (Lot 31) at the intersection of Leverett Avenue and Douglas Street that are often full of overnight vehicles, which limits the ability of commuters to park and prevents the Army ROTC from parking in the morning to attend training; and Until 8 a.m., few vehicles park in the Blue Lot (Lot 32) located on Maple Street, close to the Army ROTC Building; and The enforcement of the 7 a.m.-5 p.m, parking regulations in this lot could be varied because of the lack of vehicles present until 8 a.m.; then The Associated Student Government supports the Army ROTC and all of our students interested in pursuing a career in the United States Armed Forces; and The Associated Student Government supports a change in the parking enforcement time of Lot 32 to 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m.
