McDonald TWS 6- ECED 429 Professional Development During my experience at Mathews Elementary and working with first graders for the first time I learned so much about myself as well as my students. This clinical experience has left me wanting to pursue graduate school to pursue a degree in learning disabilities. Learning disabilities really began to interest me because majority of the students in my class were on medication and they all were differently affected by the medicines they were taking. I feel like understanding the various learning disabilities would make me a better teacher because I would know how to reach my students. I realize that I need to become a more organized person if I want my teaching career to be as smooth as possible. Organization skills are essential when trying to keep up with student work for five different lessons along with assessment test.
