Dear Sacramento North Soccer Families: We here at SNSC are committed to providing our community with a top notch

playing experience for all children. At this time, the decisions and direction of our soccer club have come under question by members of NUYSL. Through the course of several months, the Board of Directors in SNSC has come to conclusion that there are too many issues associated with continued affiliation with NUYSL. To ensure that our players would continue to receive a high quality soccer experience, SNSC gathered information about several local leagues that could enhance our club. Through many discussions and meetings, the SNSC Board of Directors voted 13-1 to affiliate with Sacramento Youth Soccer League (SYSL). On Tuesday, April 9 the club managers in SYSL voted 15-0 with 3 abstentions to accept affiliation for SNSC. There has been a temporary hold placed on this agreement as District 6 Soccer looks into this decision. Here are some of the reasons for the decision to leave NUYSL. NUYSL was hastily put together when SNSC and Natomas Soccer Club left River City United Soccer League with no discussions with any stakeholders. Concern about long-term viability of NUYSL due to geographical constraints. Lack of competition between a 2 team league. Fees paid by SNSC parents were used to fund the creation of NUFC (Natomas United Futbol Club. Over $16,000 of SNSC monies were used to purchase uniforms for comp players. No Non-Profit status for NUYSL. No opportunities for Player/Coach development was offered by NUYSL. Concern over allowing all volunteers to forgo Live Scan clearance by Department of Justice. Financial stability of NUYSL is of major concern. Increased fees for Inter-League play vs. Affiliation (Fees would increase for all players by paying fees for NUYSL and Inter-League play with another league) No guarantee that Inter-League Play will be approved for either club leaving SNSC with very limited playing options for all age groups. Lack of stability at the League (NUYSL) level. President has stepped down and current President lacks leadership to run the league effectively. Again, the Board of Directors at SNSC is committed to our community and it is for this reason that we will continue to make decisions that positively impact all players and families. We appreciate your support during this process and will update you on our progress. Sincerely, Sacramento North Soccer Club
