A New York Times bestseller? Oh, you know the dogs werent going to let the cats get
away with that! This canine companion to I Could Pee on This, the beloved volume of
poems by cats, I Could Chew on This will have dog lovers laughing out loud. Doggie

hidden motives, and their eternal (and sometimes misguided) effervescence through
such musings as I Dropped a Ball, I Lose My Mind When You Leave the House, and
Can You Smell That? Accompanied throughout by portraits of the canine poets in all
their magnificence, I Could Chew on This is a work of unbridled enthusiasm, insatiable
appetite, and, yes, creative genius.
Francesco Marciuliano is the author of the New York Times bestseller I Could Pee on This, and Sally Forth, an internationally syndicated family comic strip (created by Greg Howard) that appears in nearly 800 newspapers around the world. He
was also the head writer for the highly praised PBS childrens series SeeMores Playhouse. He lives in New York City.

Dear Eric,
. . . Its not exactly a dear kitty kind of diary,
but its just as thrilling. Steve calls it his Field
Guide, and its his homemade textbook on

had bodily functions, I probably would have
pissed myself laughing both times through. I
made some notes for your enjoyment.
Youre welcome, Pam

True Blood: Steve Newlins Field Guide to Vampires

( And Other Creatures of Satan) By Gianna Sobol with Michael McMillian

The vampires, werewolves, faeries, and other supernatural creatures that call Bon Temps,
Louisiana home arent universally accepted around town. Sweet-talking, bible-thumping
Steve Newlin is their self-appointed nemesis. In his demented field guide, Steve has
recorded all he knows about these Creatures of Satan, and thats a lot: their strengths,
their weaknesses, their bylaws, and, of course, how to kill them. Sadly for Stevebut
luckily for True Blood fans everywherehis journal was stolen by Fangtasia vampires Pam
and Eric, who have defaced it in a most disrespectful and snarky manner. A cunningly
produced facsimile, and a hilarious read, The Field Guide to Vampires is packed with
untold insight into our favorite TV characters, along with photos, letters, postcards, handwritten notes, and Steves own idle doodles in a scrapbook that perfectly captures the
tongue-in-cheek camp that makes True Blood the most widely watched show on HBO.
Gianna Sobol is an associate producer for True Blood.

Chain Saw Confidential

Dead Mountain

How We Made the Worlds Most Notorious Horror Movie

The Untold True Story of the Dyatlov Pass Incident By Donnie Eichar
and J.C. Gabel

By Gunnar Hansen

The original 1974 film The Texas Chain Saw Massacre

seized the imaginations of audiences and critics, going from
controversial cult sensation to being ranked by Total Film as
the greatest horror movie ever made. Its been shown at
Cannes, briefly banned in England, and included in the
permanent collection of New Yorks MoMA. This fascinating
literary memoir of the making of the film comes from the
unique perspective of Gunnar Hansen, the actor who
played the chain sawwielding Leatherface. A critically
acclaimed poet and author, Hansen tells the real story of
the film, debunking myths, giving behind-the-scenes
details, and offering insights on the films reception and our
enduring fascination with the horror genre today.

In February 1959, a group of nine hikers in the Russian Ural

Mountains died mysteriously on an elevation known as Dead
Mountain. Eerie aspects of the incidentunexplained causes
of death, a strange final photograph taken by one of the
hikers, and signs of radioactivityhave led to decades of
speculation over what really happened. This gripping work of
literary nonfiction delves into the mystery through unprecedented access to the hikers own journals and photographs,
unseen government records, dozens of interviews, and the
authors retracing of the hikers fateful journey. A corrective to
the upcoming fictionalized Hollywood film, here for the first
time is the real story of what happened on Dead Mountain.

Gunnar Hansen is the author of several books of history, travel, and

poetry. He lives on the coast of Maine.

Donnie Eichar, an acclaimed director and producer, lives in Malibu.

J.C. Gabel is a writer and publisher, and is editor-in-chief of the
Chicagoan. He lives in Chicago.

Stop Tweeting Boring Sh*t

By Greg Stones

The New Rules of Work By Division of Labor

Penguins hate zombies. They also hate serpents, bad

haircuts, sock monkeys, leprechauns, Halloween, oil rigs,
vampire penguins, and mermaids. They really hate clowns,
but they really like capes, balloons, and free vacations.
This quirky collection reveals the discriminating tastes of
these adorable flightless Antarctic birds who encounter odd
foes (snow sharks, beavers, cowboys, samurai . . . ), but
still manage to enjoy the little things in life. With wit, humor,
and the occasional alien invasion, Greg Stoness paintings
capture the playfully absurd life of penguins.

The new generation of workers needs a new workplace

manual designed to explain the particular norms, boundaries,
and expectations of the contemporary office environment
and help them navigate the cutthroat reality of a cubicled
9 to 5. Enter Stop Tweeting Boring Sh*t, a handbook of
vintage-style public service announcements addressing
modern office issues, including such gems as: If you dont
have something nice to say, e-mail it, If it doesnt have a
meeting invite, it didnt happen, and Nothing good comes
from hitting reply all. With plenty of revealing (and real)
workplace statistics peppered throughout, plus a full-size
Stop Tweeting Boring Sh*t pull-out poster to hang in the
cubicle, this colorful guide offers just the motivation young
people need to hunker down and get to work.

This creative twist on the classic counting book reveals how the most basic shapes

Recipes and Traditions from the Verdant Hills of the Basque Country to the Coastal Waters of Andaluca
By Jeff Koehler Photographs by Jeff Koehler and Kevin J. Miyazaki

From the undulating, red-earthed hills of Andaluca to the vast oak forests of Extremadura, the geographic landscape of Spain is as spectacular and as varied as its food. For
example, each of its 50 provinces has passed a different version of cocido, or traditional
soup, down through generations. In Spain, correspondent-turned-resident Jeff Koehler
gathers the countrys many culinary traditions and distills them to their essence: homemade flavors prepared simply, and meant to be shared. With a thorough glossary of
techniques and 180 recipes for every meal of the day, and evocative photos of the food,
markets, orchards, fields, and waters from which it comes, this remarkable volume
provides novices and veterans of the cocina with a deeper understanding of Spanish
cuisine and culture.
Jeff Koehler is a culinary journalist and photographer who makes his home in Barcelona, Spain.
Kevin J. Miyazaki is an American photographer specializing in food and travel. He lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

I have walked that long road to freedom.

I have tried not to falter. I have made
missteps along the way. But I have
discovered the secret that after climbing
a great hill, one only finds that there are
many more hills to climb. I have taken a
moment here to rest, to steal a view of the
glorious vista that surrounds me, to look
back on the distance I have come. But I
can only rest for a moment, for with
freedom comes responsibility, and I dare
not linger, for my walk is not yet ended.

Grumpy Cat wrote a book once. It was awful.

Includes games
and activities to
put a frown on
your face.

Grumpy Cat
A Grumpy Book By Grumpy Cat

Internet sensation Grumpy Cats epic feline frown has inspired legions of
devoted fans. Celebrating the grouch in everyone, the Grumpy Cat book
teaches the fine art of grumpiness and includes enough bad attitude to
cast a dark cloud over the whole world. Featuring brand new as well as
classic photos, and including grump-inspiring activities and games,
Grumpy Cat delivers unmatched, hilarious grumpiness that puts any
bad mood in perspective.
Grumpy Cat is a small cat with a big frown who has inspired
a hugely popular meme. With a sour expression that could
stop traffic (and make it feel bad about itself), Grumpy Cats
talents include passing judgment, raining on parades, and
making happy people grouchy. Grumpy Cat lives in Arizona.

la vie parisienne: picnicking along the Seine, chatting

to the veggies found underground.
This comprehensive cookbook reveals the underworld of roots,

Save it in pretty glass containers and this tangy-spicy sauce
makes a great gift (or eat it yourself straight from the jar!).
Explore more unusual varieties like burdock, a long, thin root
with a mild flavor and pleasing crunch that makes it ideal for
pickling and stir-fries. Didnt know turmeric was a root? Used
mostly in Asian cooking, turmeric is best known for its beautiful
golden color and its welcome presence in dishes like Chiang

like potatoes and carrots that make flavorful hearty stews and
quick weeknight meals.

I Could Chew on This

And Other Poems by Dogs By Francesco Marciuliano

A New York Times bestseller? Oh, you know the dogs werent going to let the cats get
away with that! This canine companion to I Could Pee on This, the beloved volume of
poems by cats, I Could Chew on This will have dog lovers laughing out loud. Doggie
laureates not only chew on quite a lot of things, they also reveal their creativity, their
hidden motives, and their eternal (and sometimes misguided) effervescence through
such musings as I Dropped a Ball, I Lose My Mind When You Leave the House, and
Can You Smell That? Accompanied throughout by portraits of the canine poets in all
their magnificence, I Could Chew on This is a work of unbridled enthusiasm, insatiable
appetite, and, yes, creative genius.
Francesco Marciuliano is the author of the New York Times bestseller I Could Pee on This, and Sally Forth, an internationally syndicated family comic strip (created by Greg Howard) that appears in nearly 800 newspapers around the world. He
was also the head writer for the highly praised PBS childrens series SeeMores Playhouse. He lives in New York City.
