1. In 40 words or more describe your project and the steps you performed to complete it. What did you produce or perform? For my project, I chose to raise additional awareness on the topic of animal abuse by handing out informational broachers to everyone that came out and supported the cause. By donating money, entering in the raffle, and eating at Guads, I benefited a non-profit dog shelter with additional funds for their dogs. I had to create a poster board to show what the event was being held for. I made fliers and evaluation sheets on front and back paper which I had to go and get printed. I bought raffle tickets, a tool that perforates the edges of the paper for people to take. When I bought the tool I had to individually perforate the edge. I had to make two boxes for donations and the raffle tickets. I also made fliers to advertise for the event.

2. In at least 40 words explain how the project challenged you, and what sort of time challenges and resource problems did you encounter? In the beginning of this process I was originally not going to do this event. I had a whole entire event planned and I had talked to tons of people that were willing to help. I covered most of my stuff, I was almost done considering the most important finding a place to hold the event. I contacted many people and everywhere stated i needed insurance and it would take over 6 months to execute. Therefore the week before our senior project teacher resigned, I had to change my entire project. I had to practically throw away everything I had and start fresh. Thats when I came up with this and had about 3 weeks to do everything, including making new fliers, advertising, finding people to approve my flier, getting donations and talking to restaurants and way more. This project changed me because it made me realize what I can do, what my potential is. Through all of this process there were bumps and things that werent expected, but thats what makes this tough. If everything went perfect I wouldnt have learned anything, it would just be a normal project, but its not. Its a challenge its to push us to our limits and see what we are made of. In the beginning people would tell me this but I would never believe it, I figured my project would be easy, but it wasnt. Everything everyone told me was true and now I realize that.

3. List and then describe 5-8 fundamental ideas/concepts/skills of your project, which you learned during your project.

Determination

Through the process I had multiple events that had have made me need to start fresh and replace everything, and every time that happened I rose from it and accomplished what I needed. Through this entire year there has been work that has needed to be done the day assigned, knowing me I would wait till the last minute. But this class its not acceptable and you wont pass if you do that, therefore I learned how to do my work instead of procrastinating. In class its just time to do your work. Its not constructed work sheets and work thats not needed. Therefore you are surrounded by people talking and not doing their work. If you dont do work in class you have to do it at home, and I learned how to concentrate on what I need to get done instead of talking to friends. Its extremely hard to do this because I get distracted so easily, but I learned how to get in my zone and get done whats needed. This process you have to keep everything in line on yourself. Theres no one there telling you to take out this sheet and do this, this makes you need to be organized. If youre not organized you will get behind and not be able to find contacts for your project. You may lose a portion of your paper that you worked on for hours. If you are organized none of this will happen. You need to be motivated to learn and work hard. If youre not then you procrastinate and dont get done what you wanted, or if you do its ont up to par with what were expected. I continued to view this class as an obstacle that I must overcome.

4. List and describe 5-8 problems you encountered in your project, and briefly describe how you solved each. Problem Research Explanation Many of the cases I was looking for were not accessible through the schools Internet service, therefore I had to use other resources. Majority of all my research was done at home because there was more available to use.

Procrastination

In the beginning I would wait to get my section done until the last minute. It wasnt as good as it could be, and wasnt up to my own expectations let alone the teachers. When I procrastinate it makes me stress and then I freak out about the entire process, which made me question a lot throughout the class. When I started my project I figured it wasnt too extravagant for me to pull off. But it was almost halfway through the process and I had to completely redo everything because there wasnt enough time. With not that much time, I couldnt do something as grand as I wanted which made me feel that I didnt accomplish all that I could. During this process, we all had to apply for schools and scholarships. On top of dealing with grades because colleges look to see that you really are keeping up became really stressful. It was hard to apply and freaking out seeing if youre accepted and if youre not, then its because you werent good enough which makes it way harder to deal with.

7. Mom

List all people who helped you on the project and briefly describe the help given. My mom was there pushing me telling me that I can make it through this process when things got tough. She was there for me when I needed her. She helped me come up with ideas, and helped me execute them. She helped me make the fliers and gave me her true opinion. She was there to help me for everything that I did. The organization that I donated money to, helped me put things together for the project. She helped me pull off the ideas I wanted to do.

8. How does your completed project compare to the picture you had in mind when you started the project? It doesnt compare because its a completely different idea then what I had imagined. It came out really good, but since I didnt have a lot of time I couldnt pull off a huge event. When I imagined my

senior project I pictured me getting an award for how big it is. Since I rescheduled it, it couldnt be as big of a project because of time constraint.

9.

If given the opportunity, what would you do differently now that you speak from experience?

Done things quicker instead of waiting till the last second to complete them. This made me stress more and have to make an entire new project. If I did things on time the process would have been way easier.

10. Now that the project is completed, explain/describe the stretch or challenge you encountered/experienced. I had to deal with this big project that I had pictured and it turned out not as what I thought. My goals were not reachable in this aspect of time. Most of the bumps came in when I was halfway done with my project and I had to completely start on a new project only a couple weeks before it was due. If I didnt have these bumps then I dont think that I would have learned as much as I did, and it wouldnt have shown my true potential of what I can overcome.

11.

Beyond the project itself, what did you learn about yourself?

I learned how determined I was to get into the school I wanted. If I wasnt in this academy, I wouldnt be in the school I want. I was determined to make it through the challenges of this year which has been the toughest year so far. This whole year was to see how far we can push ourselves, and I learned how far I can go and how much potential I have. I never realized I could do this through how hard the class was portrayed by almost everyone I talked to. One of the hardest classes in the school, I was placed in and I accomplished it being a senior which is most peoples year to relax. 12. What grade would you give yourself on the project? Justify the evaluation of your grade in at least 25 words. I would give myself an honest grade of a B+. If that grade is excluding my effort through the class, because I worked so hard to make it through this process. But my grade on my project should be that because it wasnt as good as most others because of my time constraint.

Grade:

87/B+

Justification: I thought that I did extremely well in the time frame that I had. Although I encountered a lot of problems, I think I handled these problems fairly well and continued to move on through the process. I think I deserve this grade because it wasnt up to my own expectations that I set out for, but I think that is because I had this huge grade project idea and since I didnt have enough time I wasnt able to accomplish it, and that made me feel as if I didnt do as good of a job as others. I think overall I did a good job, and deserve a good grade. I feel that I deserve a good grade in how well I learned all these new skills and all these new things that I will bring to school with me next year.
