Design & Environnement

Lartisanat, une dmarche cologique
Cline Wright rconcilie artisanat et design. Moule et structure la main, nergie humaine non polluante, une coque de la gamme cocon peut se composer de plus de 2000 bandelettes de papier patiemment colles sur une forme. Sa ralisation peut prendre jusqu 4 jours de travail, lloge du temps apaise nos rythmes de consommation effrne , souligne Cline Wright. Le pinceau est lunique outil. La fabrication, chelle humaine, est ralise dans notre atelier Montreuil et domicile dans un rseau de proximit, rduisant ainsi la pollution lie au transport. Chaque luminaire est unique et parle de nature. La posie est galement pour nous une valeur durable.

Le papier
Cline Wright redonne ses lettres de noblesse ce matriau oubli dans notre socit industrielle. Le Washi , papier japonais la blancheur inaltrable, possde de nombreuses vertus trs mal connues en Europe : rsistant et trs translucide, il permet de raliser de trs grands luminaires dune extrme lgret : le luminaire Cirrus , dune envergure de 2,20 m, pse moins de 5 kg. Dlicat et fonctionnel, illustrant parfaitement la fable du chne et du roseau, lapparente fragilit du papier ne laisse en rien transparatre sa rsistance.

An ecological approach
Cline Wright reconciles design and craftsmanship. Paper
Cline Wright helps us rediscover a forgotten art - the age-old use of paper - something our hightly industrialised society has tended to overlook. The Japanese Washi paper she uses has many virtues almost unknown in Europe - whiteness that never fades, unbreakable, lightness. Cline makes very large lamps using it and yet light-weight. Her Cirrus measures 2,20 m in length but weighs less than 5 kg. Both delicate and functionnal. Apparently fragile yet tough and lasting.
