LESSON TIME: 60 minutes

CONTENT STANDARD: MCCK.CC.1 Count to 100 by ones and then by tens. MCCK.CC.2 Count forward beginning from a given number within the known sequence (instead of having to begin at one). MCCK.CC.4 Understand the relationship between numbers and quantities; connect counting to cardinality. a. When counting objects, say the number names in the standard order, pairing each object with one and only one number name and each number name with one and only one object. MCCK.CC.5 Count to answer how many? questions about as many as 20 things arranged in a line, rectangular array, or a circle, or as many as 10 things in a scattered configuration; given a number from 1-20, count out that many objects. MCCK.MD.3 Classify objects into given categories; count the numbers of objects in each category and sort the categories by count. MCCK.OA.3 Decompose numbers less than equal or equal to 10 into pairs in more than one way, e.g., by using objects or drawing, and record each decomposition by drawing or equation (e.g., 5 = 2 + 3 and 5 = 4 + 1). OBJECTIVE(S): Students will be able to communicate mathematically. OBJECTIVE(S): Student will be able to articulate their conceptual understanding. OBJECTIVE(S): Students will be proficient in making sense of quantities and their relationships in problem solving.

HIGHEST LEVEL OF BLOOMS TAXONOMY INCLUDED IN LESSON: Comprehension students will demonstrate understanding through a series of technology infused activities.

IT 2210 Game Day Fun Day Friday Lesson Plan LESSON INTRODUCTION (SHARE OBJECTIVES WITH STUDENTS): Game Day Fun Day Friday is a fun filled technology based event in which each student will have the opportunity to enhance his/hers skill set with the use of technology. At the conclusion of the entire set of mathematical challenges each student should be able be proficient in the follow: 1. Students will be able to communicate mathematically. 2. Students will be able to articulate their conceptual understanding. 3. Students will be proficient in making sense of quantities and their relationships in problem solving. PRE REQUISITE KNOWLEDGE Assessment technique will be through: Direct observation made by teachers, to include: Portfolio collection.

DELIVERY OF CONTENT (DIRECT INSTRUCTION): NEW KNOWLEDGE: 1. Teachers will introduce and explain mathematical activities for Assessment technique will be (each learning group) and connect the lesson(s) to familiar concepts through: while building on prior knowledge. DELIVERY OF CONTENT (DIRECT INSTRUCTION): contd 4. Each activity will last for a duration of 15 minutes (each) after which a timer will indicate when it is time to rotate to the next respective color zone until all color zones have been completed by each student.

STUDENT ACTIVITIES (AUTHENTIC TASKS): All activities will include the following technologies to include mathematical apps. Vtech Inno Tab 2S Finding finger pals, Number Crabs, Team Umizoomi, Number Block Drop, Add em Up Aliens, and Math Oven. REAL WORLD APPLICATION Assessment technique will be through: Smart Board Group time. Lets put it all together with Math Mall, Gumball Math, and Counting at the local grocery store.

MEASURING STUDENT LEARNING OF OBJECTIVE (ASSESSMENT): An opening exercise will engage students to determine what they know from prior knowledge, at which point a Pre Assessment can be determined. After the conclusion of the Smart board activity, a Post Assessment will be conducted for each student to determine if learning objectives have been mastered and/or achieved. The level of proficiency will be indicated by the following: Proficient (P) In Process (IP) *Not Yet (NY) Please not, for students that are in this area, a corrective plan of action will be implemented to strengthen his/her areas of weaknesses.
