Maiya White Mr.Ingels Honors World History 1 May 2013 Works Cited 1945. Photograph. Okinawa. Archives.Gov. Web. 24 Apr. 2013. <http://www.archives.gov/research/military/ww2/photos/images/ww2-159.jpg>. This photograph from the Battle of Okinawa was featured on the event on my timeline. The photograph showed the landscape on the island. Lastly, the picture also allowed me to see the type of stress the men were put under due to pressure to win the war.

This propaganda poster of Pearl Harbor was used to fulfill the requirement of poster/artwork. This poster enhance the look of the website overall. In addition, it also led to the discovery of more propaganda posters.

I obtained a quote from Hitler from an entry on my website. This quote allowed me to express the importance of the event I was citing. In addition, I was able to find other great quotations.

I found multiple picture I could have used of this concentration camps. In doing so, I found links to other helpful websites.

This picture of an airplane for WWII gave a visual for the words they were paired with. The photo also showed the kind of technology available during the war. Lastly on the website there were also quotations form pilots during the war.

The Buchenwald photo was used with the entry that addressed the creation of it. The photo showed the size of the camp as well as what life was like inside of it. The photo also gave me a chance to explore the photography of WWII. "Eastern Europe, 1941." Web. 24 Apr. 2013. <http://ww2db.com/images/battle_barbarossa5.jpg>. The map I obtained from this website was used to fulfill the map requirement. The map shows Eastern Europe during the war. In doing this, it also shows the even distribution of land before the Nazis started expanding their empire.

This poster for the propaganda filled movie served as a poster on my timeline. It showed the discrimination towards Jews. The website where I found the poster also showed me more poster, but I did not use any.

In addition, it showed the popularity of the photo it depicts. The artist showed the appreciation for the soldiers in the carton. The website was filled with cartoons that expressed veteran appreciation

Auschwitz is widely accepted as the most deadly death camp of the holocaust. This picture shows why that is. The picture shows a large establishment that looks intimidating. There was a selection of photos to choose from, showing the mass photographs that were taken to document this time.

This collection of photos from various wars featured a women in tears as she does the fascist salute. This picture shows the invasion of Czechoslovakia. The picture also shows the terrors that war can bring.

"Invasion of Poland, 1939." History.howstuffworks Web. 24 Apr. 2013. <http://history.howstuffworks.com/world-war-ii/start-world-war-21.htm>. This picture showed the route used to invade Poland. The map also showed how much land the Nazis had claimed. The map lastly showed other empires in Europe at the time.

Through this photo I was able to show the damage done on the night of broken glass. The picture also showed the Aryan Germans relishing in the damage. This shows that the event was intended to damage property as well as spirits

This painting showed the plague that came along with being Jewish during the holocaust. The artist depicts the sadness they experienced. Lastly, it shows how the people who were unable to works also went hungry.

The Poetry. Web. 29 Apr. 2013. <http://www.merkki.com/poetry.htm>. From this website, I was able to find multiple selection of poetry form WWII. The poetry is featured in different sections of timeline. Though some of the poetry did not have an author the message was still clear.

Another photo from concentration camp showed the scary things they were capable of. This photo in particular featured Ravensbruck and the exterior. It was cataloged along with other photos from the same camp.

This map showed the route that Danish Jews used to escape the Germans. The map included a scale that made it more real. Lastly, the map showed the progression of the German army.

From this website, I obtained a photograph. I used that picture to describe an event on my timeline. The details the photograph provided a great visual for the event.

Swastika. Photograph. The Flagman. Web. 29 Apr. 2013. <http://theflagman.co.uk/images/PB200166.JPG>. The swastika was the symbol for the Nazi party. The flag showed what it looked like in Germany. Many fascist countries used the symbol.

"Timeline of Events 1931-1945." Timeline of Events 1931-1945. Web. 20 Apr. 2013. <http://sp.uconn.edu/~wwwcoh/TIMELINE.HTM>. From this timeline, I found a few events that I used in my timeline. The timeline helped me find sources for quotes and pictures. In addition, the timeline gave specific dates and not just years or vague dates. The timeline covered WWII and the Holocaust and not just one.

This map was of the Warsaw ghetto. The map contained a caption that showed gave numbers of people there. I used those number in my explanations

Wiesel, Elie, and Marion Wiesel. Night: With a New Preface by the Author. New York: Hill and Wang, 1972. Print. This book was written by Auschwitz survivor. The author describes his experiences. The quotations I used from this book were included with a timeline event. "World War II Poetry." Poetry. Web. 29 Apr. 2013. <http://www.sccs.swarthmore.edu/users/04/sorelle/poetry/wwii/poetry.html>. Another website where I found poetry from WWII provided quotations. The quotations that I found here showed the fear of the enlisted men and officers. The separation in rank did not separate the fear the men shared. Some of the poetry is very direct while other use metaphors and imagery to deliver the massage.
