PETER P oint E vidence T echniques E xplanation R eaders Response Point

Make a one sentence analysis about something important you learnt from the text.

Evidence
Provide a focused quote that supports your point.

Techniques
Are there comparisons like metaphors and similes? What effect do these have? Are there onomatopoeic words - words which sound like their meaning? Are there words or phrases that sound like speech or are informal? Are there puns or jokes? Is there humour? If so, what kind of humour is it? Is there irony or sarcasm? Are there examples of ambiguity or do you know exactly what the writer thinks?

Explanation
Explain how what you are saying in your point and evidence answers the question you have been asked. How do you know what you have said in your point is true? Where possible, link this to other relevant points (Remember This is the most important part of your paragraph. Here your job is to make sure your reader fully understands your point.)

Readers Response
Explain the effect on the reader. How does it make them feel? Who does the reader side with?
