 Bronkiektasis

adalah suatu penyakit yang ditandai dengan adanya dilatasi bronkus yang bersifat patologis dan berlangsung kronik.

Bentuk tabung (tubular, cylindrical, fusiform bronchiectasis) Variasi ini merupakan bronkiektasis yang paling ringan. Bentuk ini sering ditemukan pada bronkiektasis yang menyertai bronkitis kronik. Bentuk kantong (saccular bronkiektasis) Merupakan bentuk bronkiektasis yang klasik, ditandai dengan adanya dilatasi dan penyempitan bronkus yang bersifat ireguler. Bentuk ini kadang-kadang berbentuk kista. Varicose bronkiektasis Bentuknya merupakan bentuk antara diantara bentuk tabung dan kantong. Istilah ini digunakan karena perubahan bentuk bronkus yang menyerupai varises pembuluh vena.

Imaging Characteristics Well-circumscribed, rounded, thin-walled air-filled structure within the lung parenchyma. Wall thickness of 3mm.

Emphysema Bronchiectasis

Air-filled space within the pulmonary parenchyma with thicker walls (>4 mm).
Polygonal-shaped lucent area without definable walls. Air-filled space within the lung parenchyma that branches and connects with the airway. Associated airway abnormalities including air trapping, bronchial wall thickening, and bronchiolar impactions. Clustered subpleural airspaces with variable size and wall thickness. Other signs of pulmonary fibrosis: architectural distortion, traction bronchiectasis, and reticular opacities.
