Package Sewage Treatment Plants (MBBR / MBR) Packaged sewage treatment plant is a pre-engineered and pre fabricated unit of treating sewage with an aerobic process. Treated non-potable water can be used for agricultural aquaculture & industrial applications. It is based on MBBR media & MBR Rotating Biological Contractor (RBC)
Attached growth biological treatment system, and similar to that occurring in the trickling filter. This system consists of a series of hollow/solid circular disks mounted side by side on a common shaft driven by suitable HP & RPM motor in a suitable capacity tank/reactor. The waste water/sewage is passed through at one end and treated water with bioflocs is collected at other end and the same is sent of the secondary clarifier ( of conventional/ lamella type) for clarification of treated water. This is accomplished by means of consuming surface oxygen by the attached microbial content and organic matter in reactor while the discs are in rotation. The settled sludge secondary clarifier is recycled back/ sent is the sludge disposal area. It is very low power consuming system at slow rotations. For better efficiencies we generally adopt two stage RBC system
