Harsh deserts and rough mountains made civilization

Wore breach cloths to keep cool, except on ceremonial

days Wore sandals made of yucca and hemp

Relied on irrigation only to water crops

Used pottery to hold any meat acquired

Very little weapons; used arrows and spears

Not able to defend themselves well

3 out of 4 children perished before the age of 2

Tended to wear big robes made of animal skin


The heat killed a lot of their people

Flat-headed babies tended to have issues with brain

function

Many evolutions occurred within these people

Still around today because of it

Started out as simple basket weavers and hunter-

gatherers

The next couple time periods were their most famous

Pueblo period
Learned about irrigation and agriculture

Known today as the Anasazi

Still around by learning to adapt
