Answer: Things that we cannot gain, learn or achieve from a day to day walks of life can be learned through reading good books or articles. 2. What theoretical models have you learned that describe and explain how readers construct meaning from written texts. Answer: Theoritical Model of Reading, describes and explains how readers construct meaning from written texts. 3. Distinguish sensation from perception. Give an example. Answer: Sensations are what our sense organs receive and transmit to the brain. Once the brain receives the stimulus, it converts the whole signal into feelings, taste, sound, sight, and smell. On the other hand, perception is almost like a sixth sense. It is what we perceive or form an opinion on of anything and everything happening around us. Example: if one person smells a rose, they percieve it as being a beautiful smell, 4. What learning principles that apply to reading? Answer: Create Appreciation of the Written Word, Develop Awareness of Printed Language, Learn the Alphabet, Understand the Relation of Letters and Words, Understand That Language is Made of Words, Syllables, and Phonemes, Learn Letter Sounds, Sound Out New Words, Identify Words in Print Accurately and Easily, Know Spelling Patterns, Learn to Read Reflectively 5.
