On July 4, 1776 the Declaration of Independence set forth the purpose of our government – to
secure “unalienable Rights.” These rights are “self-evident,” not granted by government, but
endowed by our Creator - “Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.”
Unalienable Rights Under Attack: Recent attempts by individuals, activist judges, and renegade
legislators to silence people of faith, may have a quieting effect on all Christians. These attacks
must be countered and our unalienable rights upheld.
Call to Action: The Bible instructs Christians to select godly leaders (Exodus 18-21) and to pray
for these leaders (I Timothy 2:1-4). Then, God promises to act: “If my people who are called by
my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then
I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sins and heal their land.” (II Chronicles 7:14). This is
a promise that no court and no law can prevent or change.
