Synthesis Paper

Eating Bacteria: Bacteria for bioremediation

Rayezza A. Saluan Rizza Earl Veverly T. Angeles

A. Introduction This synthesis paper focuses on the options for in situ remediation on the soil contaminated which has mixtures of per chlorinated compounds. Chlorinated hydrocarbons represent a large group of chemical compounds, in combination with the Very same properties that make them useful, also harm human health and the environment. Researchers are finding options for in situ remediation on the contaminated areas that may affect human health. This study explores remediation options for ashy sand contaminated by leaking drums storing such a mixture. The authors, Adrian Low, David Schleheck, Muoi Khou, and Vibeke Aagaard of Centre for Marine Biofouling And Bioremediation, University Of New South Wales, Sydney,Australia and Matthew Lee of Biological Sciences and Biotechnology, Murdoch University, Perth, Australia and Mike Manefield Centre for Marine Biofouling and Bioremediation, University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia, concluded that electron shuttles offer Promise for the in situ treatment of mixtures of chlorinated hydrocarbons.

B. Reflection This article shows may be hard to find options but because finding options on how to remediate the contaminated areas which has mixtures of per chlorinated compounds can save humans from harming themselves, that may affect the environment and which may also affect their health.
