NEW YORK STATE FBLA STATE LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE 2009 PARLIAMENTARY PROCEDURE CASE PROBLEM

The Situation: The Global Financial Crisis of 2008-2009 is an ongoing major financial crisis. Your chapter would like to conduct an assembly program for your entire high school focusing on this financial crisis and what it means to the average American individual and family. Include an item of business that involves a primary and secondary amendment regarding this assembly program. In addition, your chapter must conduct some major fundraising to cover the costs of sending five members to the National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, California. Several members have expressed concern that due to local lay-offs in your town, families will not be able to afford to send FBLA members to the NLC.

This meeting must contain the following classes of motions: Main, Subsidiary, Privileged Motion, Incidental Motion, Bring Again Part of the evaluation by the judges will be the quality of discussion. Motions should be complete and stated clearly. Debate should be logical, natural, concise, germane, and enthusiastic. Use situations typical of a regular chapter meeting.
